Recipe: Rice Version #2

BROWN RICE is a staple of a healthy diet. This rice can be cooked in a rice cooker as well.

Rice Version #2

Ingredients

1 garlic clove

1 c. short-grain brown rice

2 c. water

¼ tsp. turmeric

¼ tsp. cayenne pepper

½ tsp. sea salt

Mince the garlic clove.

In a small pot with a lid add the uncooked rice, water, garlic, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and sea salt. Cover and bring to a simmer for 25–30 minutes over medium heat. Once the rice is tender remove from heat.

Makes:  4 servings

Prep time:  5 minutes

Cook time:  30 minutes
