I started to lose weight at the beginning of 2011 losing about 25 lbs through the beginning of summer. I gained a bit back this summer with bbqs etc… At the start of the BSS I was around 225 and in the 7 weeks lost 26 lbs. I also lost 4 inches from my waist, though my partner says it looks like more. The program really is mostly common sense eating, but completely quitting all sugars (including fruits) I am sure made a difference. I was told that I was pre-diabetic and I knew that I could manage with diet and exercise… This program was the kick I needed to get me on the right path. I still have another 25 – 35 lbs to get back to my normal weight… And hopefully a normal waist.

Hi Dr. Hyman,
I am looking for the supplements you should take if you are prediabetic. I bought both of your books and was looking how to order the supplements from you. My A1C was 5.9, now 6.0 and my morning blood sugar that was 98-106 a few months ago is gradually rising to 115-118. I read yesterday that pre-diabetes usually develops into diabetes within 2-3 years. I have had this problem for a while now. How can you help prevent my pre-diabetes from developing further? How can I reverse this blood sugar dilemma? I have a homopathic doctor but he doesn’t seem to tell me enough about what is going on with my body. I am 58 years old, had a hysterectomy 8 years ago. I was put on a statin drug for cholesterol which seemed to make this blood sugar issues go out of control, elevated blood sugar, elevated cholesterol, triglycerides and root beer color urine with in days of taking the drug. Can you help me, I don’t want to become a diabetic. My life has changed and I am busy with grandbabies, part time work and life. I don’t have much time for myself. I was told that I should exercise do you have any suggestions? Thanks Dr. Hyman for all that you do for people and their health issues. I just want to mention that if your supplements have CoQ10 or caffine, I can’t take it because I am very sensitive and they both caused my heart to race. I hope you can help me as soon as possible. God bless you, Geraldine
