    Hello Dr. Hyman!

Thank you sooo much for putting this information out on the internet. My bachelor degree thesis, entitled, “Why Don’t they Just Get a Job?! Potential Solutions for the Chronically Homeless”, dedicated quite a few pages to the gluten problem–which is even worse among the homeless–because guess what they eat MOST of all?! Yup. Gluten. That’s what’s donated. I saw schizophrenic homeless people with what looked very much like dermatitis herpetiformis waiting in line for their free morning bagel… And people wonder why they can’t just get a job.

After having seen some of your videos on the immune system and links to possible reactions to food sensitivities. I have recently cut out all glutten, dairy and sugar. Having had a positive test for low Igg and a doctor wanting me to do plasmapherisis or IVIG (both of which I didn’t want to do) – I figured I had a good chance to correct the issues I’m having. I started noticing a difference on the second week. I started feeling better, my energy got better and for the first time in over a year I could feel the sheets on the bed (my neuropathy was getting better). I also have a very rare autonomic disorder called POTS syndrome, FMS/CFS, osteoarthritis and there are many more. Everything seems to be getting better. That same doctor wants to do a spinal tap to check me for MS, as a good many of my symptoms seem to point in that direction. If MS is autoimmune related, then why not try the diet and see if it helps. So, I’ve postponed the spinal tap and am trying to stick close to the diet. I’m losing weight, which I haven’t been able to do with counting calories. I’m not really restriting the amount of what I eat – just not eating the things I know I’m sensitive to. ( I’ve known of other food sensitivities, that I’m also avoiding.) I think that maybe this will be part of my solution – hoping for it to be the complete solution. ;Thanking you for getting this information out there!
