Heart Disease
Public Group active 1 month, 2 weeks agoCardiovascular disease or heart disease are a class of diseases that involve the heart or blood vessels (arteries and veins). While the term technically refers to any disease that affects the cardiovascular system (as used in MeSH C14), it is usually used to refer to those related to atherosclerosis (arterial disease). These conditions usually have similar causes, mechanisms, and treatments. Cardiovascular diseases remain the biggest cause of deaths worldwide, though over the last two decades, cardiovascular mortality rates have declined in many high-income countries but have increased at an astonishingly fast rate in low- and middle-income countries. The percentage of premature deaths from cardiovascular disease range from 4% in high-income countries to 42% in low-income countries. More than 17 million people died from cardiovascular diseases in 2008. Each year, heart disease kills more Americans than cancer.

Hi Cheree – It is healthier to eat three smaller meals than to eat one big meal. Breakfast is very important. Are you drinking water or some other beverage with carbs in it . I could be that you are drinking your calories. Are you snacking ? Are you losing weight?
-
Cheree replied 3 months ago
Drinking tons of water only. No dt sodas for a week. No snacking at all. I actually am not losing weight at all. If you think I must eat small meals I shall. I have to exercise 7 days a week not to gain weight. I usually eat egg whites tuna and salad at lunch and fish and veggies at night. I get home late from gym no I thought that would…[Read more]

You are right – It is not good to eat late at night – so perhaps rather than going without all day long you can have a couple what you would probably call a mini meal and what I would call a meal at a break time. It is all about portion control. How much tuna and fish are you eating. You should be eating something every 4-5 hours and have your…[Read more]

Hi Cheree, Are you following the BSS plan? basic or advanced? I can totally believe you are liking the food. Many of us much prefer our home prepared veggies and protein meals. We miss them when having to eat in restaurants for a couple days. The better quality ingredients are something our bodies really want.
