Hormone Imbalances
Public Group active 3 weeks, 4 days agoHormones are the chemical messengers in the body that travel the bloodstream to the organs and tissues. They slowly work and affect many of the body’s processes over time. Endocrine glands, which are special groups of cells, make hormones. There are many endocrine glands in the body with the main ones being the pituitary gland, thyroid, thymus, adrenal glands, and the pancreas. Hormones are dominant and it only requires a small amount of them to cause significant changes throughout the body. Both men and women produce hormones in the same areas with one exception, the sexual organs. Additional male hormones are produced in the testes while women’s are produced in the ovaries.

I’ve been tested for every allergy known to man, and through challenge diets, I’ve tested myself for lots of things that I was told were not allergens at all. Nada on the results front. But I’ve noticed that they seem to be…[Read more]

Hi Sue – So sorry for your chronic hives. Have you had your thyroid checked? Your symptoms remind me of hypothyroidism. Just a thought. I wish you the best on the BSS. Keep us posted, for sure. Susie
As a matter of fact, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis a few years ago. I’ve been on Synthroid since then, and my TSH, T4 and T3 numbers are good now, but my antibodies are still really high. I’ve been told that there’s nothing they can do about the auto-antibodies, and that they are not causing the hives. I’m not sure I believe…[Read more]
Hi Sue – I am not a doctor but I have had hypothyroidism for over 20 years. Sometimes your numbers do not always tell the whole story. If you are still having those symptoms, I would be suspicious. It’s not that those symptoms can’t be related to something else but I would still pursue it. There are other meds besides Synthroid. Maybe a…[Read more]
