Skin Conditions
Public Group active 1 month, 3 weeks agoMany conditions affect the human integumentary system—the organ system covering the entire surface of the body and is composed of skin, hair, nails, and related muscle and glands. The major function of this system is as a barrier against the external environment. The skin weighs an average of four kilograms, covers an area of two square meters, and is made of three distinct layers: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. There are two main types of human skin: glabrous skin, the nonhairy skin on the palms and soles (also referred to as the “palmoplantar” surfaces), and hair-bearing skin. Within the latter type, there are hairs in structures called pilosebaceous units, each with hair follicle, sebaceous gland, and associated arrector pili muscle. In the embryo, the epidermis, hair, and glands form from the ectoderm, which is chemically influenced by the underlying mesoderm that forms the dermis and subcutaneous tissues

Skin Conditions 3 months, 3 weeks agoHi there. I’m not sure I’m navigating this site well, but I’m hoping to view others’ writings. Well, I have Seborrehic Dermatitis and in all of my searching, which has been a tremendous effort over many years, I have never seen anything like what I have on my head. I’m doing the best I can. Wondering about what other people would be…[Read more]

Skin Conditions 5 months, 1 week agoI worked for a lawyer that smoked like a chimney. This is a smoking building. The owner smoked as well. After I started working for her I developed several severe rashes on my thighs, abdomen and inside the bend of my arms.
I tried everything and yet there is scarring, white bumps and severe itching. I was played with by residents. I was…[Read more]

Skin Conditions 6 months, 2 weeks agoHi everyone! I have an eczema-like rash that slightly waxes and wanes but is ever-present on the front of my chin/jaw, and o=around my eyes (focused on the outer and under surfaces.) I have had this for 2.5 years, and I’ve tried multiple allergy-eliminations for single foods, and did an allergy elimination diet for 4 weeks with no real change. …[Read more]

Our daughter (9) has 3 different types of eczema we took her nearly Gluten free about 6 months ago. Her skin has really improved. She does still get some wheat products at school (treats and such) I would love to get her totally g free but so far this hasn’t happened. I think you’ll find your skin has never ever looked better in less than 3…[Read more]

Skin Conditions 7 months, 3 weeks agoHi everyone, I’m a newbie to the community. I have been slowly working my way into 100%
into the wellness trek. I tested to be on the advanced plan and started using all listed supplements
listed the first 2 months then decided I needed to detox about 2 months ago. (I started 4 months ago).
I have to tell you I feel better than I have for years.…[Read more] -

My son had this as well. We gave him a kids probiotic, mulitvitamin, kids D, and a fish oil capsule. It did go away eventually and he is still clear years later. He still gets the supplements listed above. We also put him on a rotation diet for a while but not too long.

Our son’s eczema went away when we took eggs out of his diet. It can really depend on what type they have.

Skin Conditions 1 year agoWeek 5, day 5, and I have to say that my skin is looking better since I began the BSS eating plan. My nails are healthier, too (pity it doesn’t help with my chewing them!). I hope my insides are starting to see improvements the same way my outside is getting healthier.

What is BSS please?

Skin Conditions 1 year agoHi there folks. Is there anyone else here who deals with psoriasis? Especially on the scalp? Would love to figure out a way to get rid of it.

I am dealing with that… I was hoping beyond all hope that this would help alleviate it…. I’m only starting this program now, so have nothing to compare yet. How long have you been with the program?

Our daughter has 3 types of eczema (none of them seborrehic in nature) she is 9 we have not done the BBS diet with her but we did take her gluten reduced (she still gets some now and then) and her eczema has really gotten better. Not gone but better. I’ll be surprised if yours doesn’t really improve or go away on this BBS plan.
I don’t know what the BBS plan is. What is it? Also, the research says that they don’t know anything about why seborrehic dermatitis manifests… they only know links. I’m not too hopeful. Very good about your daughter’s eczema. Three types though? I’m interested in what those three are also. I’m 100 percent gluten free for about 3 1/2…[Read more]
Hi Lisa, The BSS plan is the Blood Sugar Solution written by Dr Mark Hyman. You may want to read the book. It has helped many with lots of different problems. Although it is a real help for diabetics, the program helps many others. I am not diabetic but have gotten rid of arthritis, restless leg syndrome, acid reflux, foggy brain, lowered my blood…[Read more]
Hi Lisa-
I have been dealing with an eczema related issue for the past 5 years. Multiple doctors, allergy tests, yada-yada-yada. I started to put two and two together, that I may have an issue with sugars, be it carbs in any form (bread, pasta, sweets or wine). My scalp flairs up with these foods. I am about to embark on this plan in hopes I…[Read more]
