Toxicity
Public Group active 2 months, 3 weeks agoToxicity is a constant attribute of a defined chemical agent (substance) featuring qualitative and quantitative aspects. Toxicity is the degree to which a substance can damage a living or non-living organisms. Toxicity can refer to the effect on a whole organism, such as an animal, bacterium, or plant, as well as the effect on a substructure of the organism, such as a cell (cytotoxicity) or an organ (organotoxicity), such as the liver (hepatotoxicity). By extension, the word may be metaphorically used to describe toxic effects on larger and more complex groups, such as the family unit or society at large. A central concept of toxicology is that effects are dose-dependent; even water can lead to water intoxication when taken in too many doses, whereas for even a very toxic substance such as snake venom there is a dose below which there is no detectable toxic effect.

Toxicity 3 months agoHi folks! I hope you can help me! I am in the third week of the Ultimate Weight Loss Detox/Cleanse, and I have been slowly reintroducing foods. I felt amazing for the first two weeks, then slowly found IBS symptoms returning. Today I feel crummy, and I am not sure what has triggered this! Possible culprits: too much olive oil for vege saute,…[Read more]

Toxicity 7 months, 1 week agoCan anyone tell me what a safe intake schedule is for seafood. I know that some seafood has lots of mercury in it (the post below about foods with mercury will be great!) but I don’t know how much I should or shouldn’t eat or what some alternatives are. They’re the foods with the most Omega’s right? I’ll take a supplement but feel like such a…[Read more]

Hi Amy,
For salmon (wild only) 4 ounce servings 1-2 a week. Dr Hyman says no tuna. I keep pole caught (more expensive, but worth it) tuna on hand for emergency use. I would not eat tuna the first 6 weeks and then maybe one can a month. The smaller fish like sardines, anchovies and smelt are fine to eat in 4 ounce servings.
the oily fish like…[Read more]-

Toxicity 9 months, 1 week agoHi! On Thursday, my Dr. informed me that I have high levels of arsenic in my system. The chelation IV treatments that he offers are too expensive for me and are not covered by insurance. Has anyone here ever used chelation pills? Are they effective? Can anyone recommend a reliable brand?

Toxicity 1 year agoWhere can I find guidance for the best water filtration system for my house?

Margaret Foster replied 1 year ago
Hi, That is a great idea.
If you are putting in new pipes and a large system, consider a large (200 gallon plus) distiller with a filtration system. The filters would probably be replaceable carbon or reverse osmosis. Online research is a good place to start. If there are water stores in your area, talk to the people that built the stores, not…[Read more]

Toxicity 1 year, 1 month agoHaving a palette for flavors other than sweet and salty is essential for balanced nutrition. Enjoying a RANGE of flavors from bitter, pungent and sour to sweet, salty or umami (savory) will enhance up your senses, fire up your metabolic power and make you enamored with the dining experience. Challenging our taste buds is a great food “game.” …[Read more]

RDR – I am not familiar with the Ultimate Weight Loss Detox/cleance but have been living the blood sugar solution diet for 8 months. Isn’t there instructions about how to reintroduce foods? I would take everything out that you have recently added and give yourself time to stabilize. (again). Then slowly add one food at a time and weight each day…[Read more]
Hi RDR, You will have to start again to see what is happening. Like Nicole mentioned, you need to reintroduce one food at a time. I would wait a week before reintroducing each food. That way I knew what was causing problems. I tried cheese first and could not tolerate that. Then 5 weeks later i reintroduced organic, plain yoghurt and have no…[Read more]
