Happy Tuesday Everyone – This is going to sounds silly to some of you but I have been noticing bones lately that I haven’t seen or felt for years as my % fat decreases. The scale is still telling me 139 but should be inching downwards soon since I’ve been at that weight for over 5/8. I had to go buy a new pair of sandals this week because I kept…[Read more]

    • Your post is, as usual, right on target for me. Came back from my long weekend away and only lost 1 pound. Ate everything right although I did not get the 2 snacks in for 4 days. Glad I did not gain a pound! Nicole…keep writing you provide such inspiration for me and others. Thank you, Rusty

      • Rusty- in my book the snacks are not mandatory – if you are no hungry between meals don’t have a snack…just make sure though that you are drinking enough water. You won’t lose weight if you are dehydrated. I eat one of my snacks before my evening pills usually some sort of protein so that the pills are not taken on an empty stomach. My other…[Read more]

  • Hi, I wanted to mention some good news, the farm bill is being written, in congress, and it looks like the organic food industry will be given the right to an advertising campaign. This is at no expense to the government and is under the same law that gave us the ‘Got Milk’ and beef ads. So, although there was resistance, healthy food is…[Read more]

I went clothes shopping today and bought some size 8 shorts for this summer that fit perfectly ……how exciting this is for me! i am still holding off on doing any serious shopping until i reach my goal weight of 120 lbs. Nicole

    • That must have felt wonderful. What a small size you are in now. I am proud of you and your accomplishments. Lisa

    • Very nice, Nicole:) those smaller sizes are very motivating. Margaret

    • Congratulations, Nicole! You are my hero. What a great accomplishment. Shelley

    • Congrats Nicole! I haven’t gone shopping yet because I haven’t lost enough weight to make much different but I am trying on old cloths I still have stored and found 2 pairs of shorts that fit great and they were a size smaller. It sure feels good. And my friends have started mentioning the difference in me. I really contribute the change in…[Read more]

    Tabbouleh with Quinoa

The more herbs you add the better. They are very healthy for you. Quinoa is a complete protein and fantastic for your health, especially if you are a vegetarian.

    • wow Margaret …my thoughts will be with you Margaret…I’ll be cheering you on from afar! So what is the weight goal? Keep us posted on how you are doing ! Nicole

      • Hi Nicole, Thanks. I am hoping for another 10-15 pounds. I will not do that in 6 weeks, because I do not have all that inflammation induced weight I started with before. But I want to get there. 15-20 pounds a year is plenty for me with this heart condition. My blood pressure drops dramatically when I loose weight.

        • As you get closer and closer to goal weight ..the pounds come off slower and slower but they do eventually come off. ( or at least that is the premise that i am living by these days)

    • Stay strong. I think there is something about this lifestyle that, the longer you’re on it, the further you want to take it, in one form or another.

      • Thanks Shupac, Another woman, Anna just commented about how she is on plan after more than one year! This really does get comfortable after a while.

    Hi,
For most of my adult life I have been eating ‘healthier’ according to what the latest news flash about food was. I always did strive to get more vegetables into my diet.
