In reply to: noreenkrebs posted an update in the group Diet & Nutrition I’m new to this, but can you have a good caffeine-free coffee like Starbuck’s caffeine free coffee? View

I’ve given up the coffee and, amazingly enough to me, I find I wake up much faster in the morning without it! It surely is tough to wean off of though. Hang in there.

I’m with Janine on this one. I’ve found that protein and low-glycemic vegetables are what lasts the longest for breakfast. Adding any starchy carbs just makes me intensely hungry after about 2 hours. This surprised me.

I am a praying woman and I asked God Almighty for wisdom. It says all throughout a book called Proverbs that God gives those you ask for it, wisdom in abundance. So, I asked. I needed it badly. Hi, Laury. Collards will cook and tenderize pretty quickly if….you cut out the thick center stems and then stack the leaves up and julienne them. Did you try that? I like them that way with the olive oil and garlic, you can ”stir-fry” them so to speak.

I’m on week 1, day 4 and doing well and feeling positive. Got to say though, I’m only doing the journal weekly to record my stats. Not really seeing the point. Any thoughts?

    • Hi Bev, Some people are not journaling types. If you are doing fine without it then you do not need that tool. I stopped recording in a journal after two weeks and am doing just fine (just starting week 9).

        Hi, Melissa,
I remember feeling rather overwhelmed when I first began reading the BSS book. Between the PBS show, the Huffington Post videos, and the book itself, I found Dr. Hyman’s message very appealing-that we each have the power within us to make the changes necessary to reverse our poor health problems and regain our good health. I am…[Read more]

You are welcome. One huge thing: no sugar in any form whatsoever. This is the best thing that has ever happened to this sugar ADDICT. You can’t cheat…[Read more]
