Hi, I’m a Newbie to all this, just trying to find my footing. I’m diagnosed as MAV–Migraine Associated Vertigo, which in my case consists of an inter-related inner ear and migraine. Any others out there?

    • Bev, I have occasional migraines, too, but I suspect I’m holding tension in my shoulders that translates up into the back of my neck/head. Do you think the BSS program might help with your inner ear issues? By the way, I think your profile picture might be passiflora incarnata…gorgeous flowering passion flower vine…yes?

      • Hi, Jane. Yes, my profile picture is my Maypop/Passionflower vine. I love my plant. It reminds me of my childhood–there was one growing itself out by my Grandpa’s barn and every summer I would go check on how it was doing. It makes a little fruit, the maypop, that is edible, but difficult to time ripeness on.

I didn’t see anything in the book that would relate to inner-ear problems. Hopefully, this level of jiggling with my diet may reveal food sensitivities that are migraine triggers–I’ve already found a few for me. My main migraine trigger at this time is sudden barometric changes and you can’t do a darned thing about the weather!

        • Oh, the ”special” thing about the MAV–migraine associated vertigo–is that the migraine is expressed more typically as vertigo instead of a headache, and the vertigo lasts longer. So I wind up lying on the couch (it qualifies as an activity if you have vertigo, since you can lie still and feel the earth rotate!) for a week or so.
