Diet & Nutrition 1 year agoDoes butter contain casein? I have heard good things about butter. And I am not that afraid of its saturated fat. Dr. Mark Hyman says that casein and gluten are two allergens that some people are sensitive to. So I want to find out if butter contain casein as in some dairy products? And what does he think about butter?

Diabesity / Diabetes 1 year agoIs it true that feeling hot and excessive sweating is a possible symptom of low blood sugar (as in a crash after a high carbohydrate meal)? If so, what physiological mechanism would cause this?

Having a high carb meal should cause a spike, not a low in blood glucose. As to the symptoms of a low I’m not sure. Fortunately I’ve never had one.

My understanding is that those can be symptoms of a low blood sugar crash and yes, you can have a crash after the spike of a high carb meal.That is part of the reasoning behind the BSS to provide a steadier state of carb intake and blood glucose fluctuations without those heavy swings. Hi, I do not know about the sweating from low blood sugar, it has never happened to me.
I do know that low blood sugar effects the brain and you can pass out (to conserve energy?) so that the brain hopefully can keep you alive. I have passed out from low blood sugar and it felt like a very bad hangover when I revived. I never have low blood sugar…[Read more]

I’m convinced. Sugar glycates to proteins and causes inflammation which is a contributing factor to many diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even dementia.

Butter does contain casein. As butter is a dairy product it is to be avoided on the 6 weeks.
