I don’t know where to post this question, none of the group names seem the right one. Today is my 6th day on the BSS program. Ever since the evening of day 1, I’ve had this awful, gnawing pang….it feels just like a hunger pang, only more intense. And it just will NOT go away. It’s there 24/7. I’m not hungry….I enjoy the food and get plenty to eat. This pang is there all day, after meals, between meals, even during meals. I am trying to be strong and wait it out, hoping it will go away but it’s been almost a week and it’s as strong as ever. Prior to going on the plan I was eating lots of starch every day, drinking 3 or 4 diet sodas every day, and often ate prepackaged foods…….so I keep telling myself this constant pang MUST be a withdrawal from the preservatives in the packaged foods or chemicals in the sodas, and/or something to do w/ gluten withdrawal (if there is even such a thing?) I don’t know, but I don’t want to stop the program because I know it is a healthy way to eat. Plus my husband is diabetic and it’s already made a positive difference for him even in just 6 days (and incidentally he does not have this pang at all). But I don’t know how much longer I can take this pang. It is quite intense like a really strong hunger pang, a constant gnawing. I feel fine otherwise….eat all I want at meals, enjoy the food, don’t have any cravings for anything or miss anything (don’t even miss the diet sodas… not a bit……am drinking water for the first time in my life instead of the soda). Does ANYBODY know what this could be and what to do about it?

    • Hmmmmm that is strange. Everybodies body reacts differently so it could be your body adjusting to your new diet. I’ve heard some people who go through a ”carb flu” stage will have weird body sensations for up to two weeks. I would say keep on the plan and see if it starts to get better. Another thing that I do, that helps to detox and hydrate my body quickly is to drink my water WARM. Warm water helps to hydrate your body quickly and if you add a squeeze of fresh lemon you can help detox a little faster. It’s worth a try..maybe you are needing to hydrate yourself a little more. Dehydration can really do weird things to a body. Hope you feel better soon.
