Diet & Nutrition 1 year agoI want to thank everyone who responded to my last post with such good advice. I now have another question; I’m preparing for extensive spinal surgery in several weeks. Is there anything I can be doing with my”diet” (what I eat during the day, not the stereotypical reducing diet) to help my body prepare for the surgery? I am taking an excellent…[Read more]

Diet & Nutrition 1 year agoi just stopped drinking diet soda. I’ve found I lost my taste for it after 11 weeks on the Ultrametabolism plan. Tomorrow I start the BSS diet with the hope it will accelerate my weight loss and improve my insulin resistance. The basic plan is not very different from Phase I of the Ultrametabolism plan. I’m having a little trouble with the prep…[Read more]

Hypothyroidism & Thyroid 1 year agoI’ve been taking thyroid medications forever for my hypothyroidism. My doctor thinks my adrenal glands have burned out due to stress, medication, and medical challenges and this has contributed to my hypothyroidism. I am working on optimizing my health this year and have been following the Ultrametabolism plan for 12 weeks. My sleep is more…[Read more]

Diet & Nutrition 1 year, 1 month agoHow do you transition from Ultrametabolism to BSS?

I welcomed the BSS shopping list towards the back of the book. It was a matter of bring in a well-rounded supply of low glycemic foods into the house prior to and during the prep week. I’ve learned that practically every packaged food is “illegal” on the Advanced Diet so preparing healthy foods in advance is essential. This necessitated the…[Read more]

I tried to play the videos in the 30-day challenge series on my Android and couldn’t. Can the techies make the videos available to Android as well as iPhone users? There are quite a few of us, believe it or not.

good to know! i am trying to quit diet soda right now too, and will start the BSS may 10th. good luck!
I had been on Atkins, but my weight loss had stalled after 20lbs. I gave up all the fake sugar (diabetic chocolates and diet soda), and suddenly the pounds are flying off.
Hi, Buying food and cooking will take up a lot more of your time following this plan. Some shortcuts are cook enough of something to last several days. Keep lots of cleaned and cut vegetables in the refrigerator so that you just have to grab things to cook or make a salad. That saves lots of time. Blessings, Margaret
All the time preparing foods can be exhaustive. Instead of making salads all the time last week, I made a big pot of vegetable/cabbage “chili” and seperated the pot into 5/3 cup servings and froze them. Now, lunch is simply a matter of taking one from the freezer the night before. I also made a batch of turkey meatballs to use for lettuce…[Read more]
yeah, i think this is how i will survive too. who has time to do all the prep and cooking EVERY day?
Those are all good ideas. Planning is KEY with success in this life shift. (Notice I didn’t say diet!). I used to crave potato chips at night, now I have celery and peanut butter or carrots and hummus. I take one day/week and try and plan, make a few meals and do veggies. If I don’t, I make bad choices. We need to put ourselves FIRST, and…[Read more]
Great post. You are so right about putting ourselves first, rather than last, which is usually the case. Wow, a year on program. Congrats! I like what you said about feeling “normal”. I felt that way in the first week or so (I am in the middle of week 3). Being able to watch tv and not want to constantly snack, seeing a food…[Read more]
