I agree – We’ve got to listen to our bodies. If you are eating green vegetables you are eating carbs. You are just limiting your carb intake to low glycemic vegetables so that you can be kind to your body so that it can continue to heal, Good for you!. I am pretty much limiting my carbs to vegetables also that don’t spike my sugar level twith…[Read more]

Wow Cathy- congratulations! You are an inspiration. I’m at day 1 of week 5 . still on insulin but dosage is 40% of what it has been for the past 2 or more years. Please clarify- you do not eat ANY carbs? Or just stick with the low glycemic vegetables?

It sounds like you have figured out what works for you. that ’s great!. I’m still working on figuring it out -each time I need to reduce my insulin dosage it’s a whole new ball game.

Wow Cathy – congratulations! 40 lbs gone that is fantastic! How much more do you want to lose? The biggy of course is that you have been off meds for 11 weeks. Good luck with your HB1AC next week. More good news ! That’s terrific. I agree with you this is a lifestyle . I have been eating a similar health diet since January but just eliminated gluten in June and dairy when I actually started this program. I am not loosing weight as quickly as you have but I have been able to cut out one of my insulins novolog pretty much to zero and soon…[Read more]

I intend to lose another 18 pounds. Yes – I’m on the advanced plan – no carbs to speak of. I don’t see this as a diet anymore – but as a lifestyle change. I don’t think I will ever go back to gluten or dairy as my crippling arthritis has completely disappeared during the course of this program.

More good news ! That’s terrific. I agree with you this is a lifestyle . Part of me wants to gain-back the 38 pounds and return to life of hiding in agorophobia, obesity and arthritis. I wonder if this is why most people fail at diets and lifestyle change.I don’t know. But I keep thinking that failure is not an option here. I have to do this.

Hi cathy, That ego voice that thinks it will be easier or safer to go back haunts us all. I remember how weird and otherworldly it felt when I hit the 169 pound mark (going downward). Somehow weighing in the 160 range was not alright on some level. I will never figure it out, but knowing there was a blockage inside of my mind is a big help toward…[Read more]
