Diabesity / Diabetes 1 year, 1 month ago Week 7 and I’m going hiking tomorrow! It’s been over 5 years since the onset of crippling arthritis in my knees that mysteriously disappeared around week 3 of the advanced program. I feel like I’ve been given my life back through this process. I am so grateful and optimistic for my future.

Fabulous! How much you are going to enjoy that hike!
Yes! Another thing I’m grateful for – I was packing-up my fanny pack this morning and realized I don’t have to carry Glucose with me anymore because I’m off Glyburide and no longer have hypoglycemia! WIN! WIN! WIN!
Wow! How wonderful. Congrats.
Hi Cathy, That is wonderful news. I cannot wait to be strong enough to go to Rancho San Antonio to hike. I love the farm with all the baby animals. How wonderful to take water and a snack along, rather than medications! Stay well, MARGARET
That is just great. I was running into a bit of the same thing with drops too low. It’s wonderful to be off that extra med and not running into that problem.
Congrats!
Cathy, that sounds so great that you’re going hiking. Isn’t that the best feeling ever to not have to carry things with us for blood sugar lows when we get off the meds that cause them? I too am surprised that after only 5 weeks, I have much less back pain and less achy joints. I have lost 14 lbs. which has to help some but I think it’s clear the diet’s impact has a lot to do with making me more comfortable. I’ve been taking a weekly yoga class for at least 1/2 a year and used to sit out at least 1/3 of the class. Now I’m doing almost all of it, because I have less pain. I am walking a little more, taking dance lessons and last night I did part of a Zumba DVD at home.
Wonderful!!
