Hi, So I made it through the six week program losing a total of 15 pound. Blood sugar has been stable. After two weeks of adding back in Flour and Dairy I have decided no more Flour for me. Ever! When I went back on the program (starting over with the first prep week) I started to lose weight again. And I feel great! Found two new foods I…[Read more]

    • Congrulations on making it thru 6 weeks and losing 15 pounds. And no moe gluten for you or me. the good news to me about that is that it wipes out a whole bunch of foods that I really shouldn’t be eating and a valid excuse when my friends say ….oh come on just a little piece. Keep us posted on you progress. how much more weight do you want to lose.

    • Hi Christie, Thank you for sharing your wonderful story. You did just great! A lot of us are deciding to avoid dairy and/or wheat for the long term. Processed food does not appeal at all after a couple of months off the junk. The search for new and different food can be fun. Stay well, Margaret

    • Wow Christie… Thanks. My wife and I are missing pizza. I’ll Google that recipe and try it this weekend. If I need help, it’s nice to know you are around.

Hi I am on a total of 5 weeks including the two prep weeks. I have lost 15 pound, but for the last week I haven’t lost a pound and I am discouraged. Did you experience this, what did you do.?? So far this diet has been awesome, but because I am in it alone here at home, I still have to cook for my family who want to eat pasta and bread, so…[Read more]

    • Our bodies sometimes need a break to adjust to the changes, but you will also find that on those weeks when you fear you might not be losing weight, you are able to see measurable changes in other ways, like in your waist measurement. The scale seems to enjoy teasing us. Hang in there. You are doing great!

    • Like Janine mentioned, the changes come out in varying ways. Don’t get hung up on the scale! I keep reminding myself that this is not a weight loss plan, it is a diabetes reversal plan. Weight loss is ONE of the great outcomes. Keep it up! -tasha

In reply to: Marion Boak posted an update in the group Diabesity / Diabetes Hi: Don’t know about you, but starting on a Monday was not a smart thing for me to do. Not only do I feel tired from low iron, but tired from not […] View

Hi, that’s great that you took your own food to dinner. I switched from coffee to green tea, and only had headache for 1 day. The hard thing for me is the Wine. I have been having 1 glass of red wine after my evening meal, to lower my blood sugar. I really enjoy that glass of wine! But for prep week 2 I am going to not have wine. …[Read more]

Hi, this is my prep week. Reading the book, and eliminating caffeine, bread, fruit, (except berries), and most dairy. For the last 18 years I have drank soy or rice milk, but have switched over in the last 3 years to Almond milk. This week I am having yogurt and berries, only because I have it. Next week all dairy well be gone! As I learn how…[Read more]

Hi christielou – glad your here. Your story sounds vaguely familiar. ;-) I’m sure there are many of us that think back to our early diagnosis days when we came out of that initial official high and began a journey to control the numbers. Nice thing about this program is that it’s not just about numbers and the good results you will continue…[Read more]

    • Im hust finishing up week 3. When i started my fasting sugars were over 250 consistently. My a1c was 12 at my last dr visit. Now my bg is consistently 105-110 and i am off all my insulin shot. I cant believe how fast it has happened. Also, ive lost 11 lbs, i hope it happens as fast for you. Wishing you the best of luck.

      • This sounds like miraculous progress for you. I found that the program worked really well for me too, to get off insulin and to lose weight. I hope you have a similar experience!
