    Ya know…just looked at my protein shake and noticed it has stevia in it. I suppose because there is so much protein, it doesn’t seem to affect me. Yes, I hope I can eventually add it back in! I bet the ice cream is tasty

    I bought “Vega” protein shake. It’s free of all allergens and it’s plant base. The vanilla chai taste so good. It’s has all the vitamins, fiber and antioxidants. Supposed to be good for blood …[Read more]

    I use xylitol, stevia etc. for my kids. I used to enjoy it until I became insulin resistant. It’s possible that eventually once Ive given my body time to heal, I could reintroduce stevia. My brain reacts to it just like sugar at this point.
    Time will tell!

    • Ugh, I’m sorry to hear this because honestly stevia has been my LIFE saver. If I didn’t have it, I would probably go nuts, lol. I do hope that you can reintroduce it at some point because they I could give you my ”ice cream” recipe – lol!

    I am super sensitive to any kind of sugar in any form. Even stevia : (.

    • Really? I fortunately can handle some sugar substitutes. I really love stevia and have been using it for 10 years… and my only real vice is aspartame because I chew a lot of sugar-free orbit gum… but that’s my only source of aspartame. I had a stupid oral fixation apparently. LOL!!! What is Xyilotol like for you?

    Yes! I’m beginning to see that the planning is critical. I made some meals ahead from the BSS book on Sunday. I love that I have something to grab whenever I need it.

    I can relate to how hard it is to give up coffee. I go through withdrawal the first week. I tried it a year ago and felt great once I was over the initial hump.     • Hi Julia, Anything you eat for lunch or dinner will work for breakfast. Protein shakes mentioned in the BSS book and soups would work.
      Good luck, hopefully you can reset those genes and in the future tolerate some of the foods you will be giving up.
      It sounds like you can follow the BSS basic plan while omitting eggs and nuts.

    • Hey Julia, how are you doing? I live without Dairy, Gluten & Yeast and it’s actually quite simple. Eggs is a sad thing to be allergic to but there are ways around it.
