Is decaf coffee acceptable or not on the program? I’ve been off caffeine for years (including teas and no sodas). Thanks for a response!

In reply to: tanya rigney posted an update in the group Gluten Question? Is Ezekial Bread different than other breads? ViewHi Tanya – Ezekiel bread is made of sprouted grains and is therefore considered a ’living’ bread. However, the very first ingredient is WHEAT so it’s not on the program! I’ve been searching for a ’substitute’ for bread too, and I think that for the 6 weeks, I’m just going to tough it out on rice and other whole grains!

Weight & Obesity 11 months, 2 weeks agoWent to my first dinner out event last night – a winemaker’s dinner (part of my job) and was able to successfully avoid wine and foods that were on the no-no list! But my weight was still up a pound over yesterday morning today! I know tomorrow it will be fine, but YEEEEEESH!!!

Diet & Nutrition 11 months, 3 weeks agoI was wondering how others are treating soy milk and almond milk on the Basic plan. Are they allowable? I’m having a difficult time trying to figure that out.
Also, I’m assuming no dairy means no goat milk or cheese as well, correct?
Thanks for any input!

Soy and almond milk are ok. Pl make sure that there is no added sugar to soy milk. in the store where i go, they have soy milk sweetended with cane sugar. this is not good.

I do the unsweetened almond milk. In the beginning I thought it was terrible as I was used to the sweetened kind. Now the unsweetened actually tastes sweet and creamy to me. Crazy right?! Yipppee!!!!

Starting to read the book today – weight not dropping even with low fat, balanced diet and exercise over an hour a day.

Yvonne, you found the perfect plan and are in the right place. It was extremely difficult for me to lose weight with a low fat, balanced diet. I had been on WW a few years ago and lost some weight over a year’s time and then it stopped. Nada… would not work for me anymore. I’ve been on the BSS for 7 months and have been very successful with weight…[Read more]

Could you be constipated a little bit? My weight changes almost three pounds after i eat four big apples with the peels and all on them. The PGX works a little too well on me with lots of fluids taken at the same time as the PGX. I cant tolerate 5 gms a day as i get loose stools on that dosage of PGX.. I also am forcing myself to get out and…[Read more]
Yesterday my weight was down 3 lbs., today it is up 2 lbs. It is water loss and retention that makes the sudden changes. I can see that for the long haul. I cannot focus only on the daily up and down but what it is at the end of a week.
Hi, Ivy,
Those ups and downs can drive you crazy. I step on the scale every day to make sure I am drinking plenty of water to flush out excess fluids and to make sure I stay on plan. I can usually tell by the latter part of the week how things are really going and what I can expect on my Sunday weigh-in. Don’t let the fluctuations get you…[Read more]
