I have been on the advanced program since Monday. I have been losing weight YAY, but my blood sugar isn’t changing much. Those of you with diabetes on the program, how long did it take for you to see results? I’m not on medication, I had one elevated test in February & the doctor told me I was diabetic (before that I was classified as…[Read more]

I started Monday, too. I have lost weight but my sugar is the same too. Blows me away. I am trying to not be discouraged so it helps that someone else is experiencing the same thing. I am just hoping by the end of a week’s time, it will drop a lot. Let’s keep working hard and support each other. Good luck.

In reply to: Pamela Brown-Seely posted an update in the group Recipes I got this from a book by Elana Amsterdam whose blog is elanaspantry.com. 3/4 cup creamy almond butter at room temp 4 large eggs 1/4 cup blanched almond […] ViewOn the advanced plan we are not to eat any grains, including gluten free, no starchy vegetables and fruit (except for 1/2 cup berries a day). This is including all of the foods to avoid on the Basic Plan. See page 276 in the book.

Diabesity / Diabetes 1 year, 1 month agoI just joined and am going to start the program this week. I have been following Dr. Berstein’s diet plan, which works, but I like Dr. Hyman’s approach that Type 2 Diabetes can be reversed and cured. I have noticed in the suggested recipes there isn’t much meat. I’m hoping as a “surf” over all of the available information I find more…[Read more]

Chicken is allowed, and fish. I think other lean meats are but you might check the book. There are good chicken recipes in the book.

Hi, If you are following the Blood Sugar Solution plan, 4 ounces or less of grass fed, sustainably raised beef or lamb is allowed once or twice a week. So going to a burger stand and throwing the bun away will not be a good fit here. Once you are on this plan for a few days most people have been very surprised that the cravings and binging seems…[Read more]
