Thank you for the encouragement Amy! This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done so far. Last night I very nearly lost it and headed out the door for a burger. The only thing that stopped me was just before I got up, my extremely talkative Siamese cat, Sal, decided to hop into my lap. I don’t know what it is about animals, but they always…[Read more]

When people ask me how I lost weight, I get dismissed as soon as I say I gave up white flour, rice, white potatoes and white sugar. The typical retort is “I could never do that.” Even though I lost 50#, very few congratulated me. Mostly I get when they still see me eating healthily “You’re…[Read more]

Hi Amy, I am in the same boat you are. Most other people just ignore what I am doing. Very seldom do people mention I look better or am thinner. The couple people that do are involved in weight control themselves. It is so silly when people say “you do not need to loose more weight’. First, how do they know. Secondly. if I am obese or over…[Read more]

Great post, Amy. The people who most need to lose weight I suspect are secretly waiting for us to fail in our own efforts to lose the weight or watching to see how long it is before we regain all the pounds back. They are forced to confront their own failures to get healthy, even if it is all unspoken, but you know that is what is taking place. …[Read more]

Hi, Amy,
I am just the opposite. I love to tell EVERYONE about my weight loss. I always tell them the eating plan in the Blood Sugar Solution is very strict, but that strictness actually makes the diet easy because hunger and cravings vanish. One thing about sharing my story with others is that I have been rewarded by hearing about other’s…[Read more]

I am so happy you are reaching your goal! I do not look at this like a “Diet”. My mind set is that “food is my medicine” to good health. This has been a real eye opener for me. I love your post because it really hits home with me. I used to think exactly the same thing. I lost weight once back in 1981, only to gain it back and then some! It is actually good that it takes us time to lose the weight because we have time to deal with those inner issues.

I will say that during the weight-loss process, it is important to monitor what one is eating and to assess how foods impact our bodies in every way, including the loss of weight.
