Weight & Obesity 1 year agoHey All! Day 1 went well…I screwed up with a bit of coffee and a cookie but other than that I did great..so it’s a win for me..tomorrow I’ll do even better! I wonder about quinoa? It’s in his recipes and is gluten free…would it be allowed on advanced? Also, I read the soaked nuts can be harmful if they are not dried properly…the stuff…[Read more]

Jaime-make up a survival kit so that you have good healthy choices to keep from being tempted. Some nuts, carrots or celery, hummus, can of salmon, chickpeas, protein bar and water. Good luck Jaime, we are starting this journey together

Hi Jamie! Welcome to the plan! I never did find out what protein bars to get, so instead I keep a few hard boiled eggs in the fridge and take one with me most days and just have one and some sliced cucumbers or sliced yellow or red peppers for a snack. Sounds like you are well prepared! Good Eating!

I have a Larabar most days. They have just a few ingredients, some just dates and nuts. Others have the addition of fruit. There are some bars on Dr. Hyman’s website that he has for sale, don’t recall what they are called but I think the Larabars are actually better, with fewer ingredients and I think his have agave syrup in them. You can…[Read more]

I believe Dr. Hyman had mentioned Lara bars on the PBS program, but maybe not, I just remember him saying that he had Lara bars in his home, so that is what I use as a daily snack. They are delicious and filling. they have a great variety to choose from also. I have found several that are my favorites so I switch them up from time to time so I…[Read more]

Weight & Obesity 1 year agoReading the book this weekend and starting the plan Monday, I travel a lot for work but determined to make this work…I don’t have a doctor but I know I have had higher than comfortable blood glucose in the past and know the symptoms and I have some now. Not going to sit and wait any longer…Change is necessary.

Why is this Boku protein so expensive? $48+ on Amazon. I would love to try it. It has 26 grams of protein per serving. The brown rice protein powder I am using (Jarrow) has just a small amount of protein per serving.
