JANINE posted an update in the group
Weight & Obesity 11 months, 1 week ago Ok, I am not a size 18, at least not yet, but last night I went looking for new jeans to replace the size 20 I am currently wearing and that are getting looser and looser. I am looking pretty sloppy in my clothes these days. I am seriously hoping a hot dryer will help shrink almost all my pants. I tried on a size 18 stretch denim jeans. I could actually pull them up and zip them too! Now, I am NOT saying they looked good on me. The tummy area was a disaster, but I am excited that I could at least get them on. (I remember when a size 3x or 26/28 wouldn’t fit!) LIttle things like this keep me going, don’t you know!

That is great to hear, Janine. You are the incredible shrinking woman! Hope your day is super!
LOL! : D
That’s Awesome! Isn’t that the best feeling? Congrats!
Awesome! All the victories along the way…
I try and take them wherever I can find them. I can’t wait for the summer sales so I can stock up on descending sizes for the upcoming months. This is the best eating plan ever!!!
Great job!! Having clothes in your closet waiting for you is a good idea.
I have gone from size 16 or 1x to size 12 and I am thrilled. I am keeping my weight level for a while, but expect to loose much more later in the year.
blessings, Margaret
Hi, Margaret,
Great job! It feels great, doesn’t it?! All that hard work really paid off!
Those are the best victories! I am proud of you Janine. I also tried on clothes this week cuz my size 20s were too big. The size 18s in my closet fit – woohoo!!! Those successes are the best.
Way to go, Susie!!!
Thank you Janine!!!
Jaine, Whahooo !! That is wonderful ! I’m looking forward to experiencing that too ! How long have you been on the program? How much weight have you lost ? Your my Idol ! You can cook the recipies, and loose weight ! Keep up the good work ! Vicki
Hi, Vicki,
Thank you so much. I took 3 weeks to prepare, getting used to the idea of not having coffee or artificially sweetened desserts. I lost 15 pounds in those 3 weeks, plus 25 pounds, as of last Sunday, during 8 weeks on plan, so forty pounds in all and 5 inches off my waist during all 11 weeks. I used to ”guild the lily” when it came to cooking. I was always trying to find a way to make something richer and more luxurious. ( I won’t even name the homemade desserts I used to make.) Nowadays, I do just the opposite. I am having so much fun learning to appreciate lighter fare, like boulliabaisse. I shunned the recipe in the past because it didn’t seem rich enough compared to other soups. Now, it is my favorite. I never thought I would see the say when I could cook without adding butter or cream or cheese to a recipe ( I sound like Paula Deen, don’t I?). I was a total coffee snob before, too, but I no longer drink the brew. I would have to say that now, I am becoming a food ”snob”. When I see other people eating unhealthy fast foods, I feel better about myself and all the efforts I put into eating right. I doubt any of us following the BSS have ever worked so hard in the kitchen in our lives! This diet is work. But so worth it!
I hope to hear of your successes in the coming weeks and months. Thanks again for all those kinds words!
I love your post!
Hi Janine, Love your posts. I was encouraged by what you said about your wt. loss in the first 3wks. 15# whoa!! I have lost 18 now and at the end of my third week. I was worried I was losing to fast or I wasn’t eating enough. I do know everyone is different. My clothes too are starting to fall off of me. I am back into size 16 jeans but the top I put on last night was quite big and it’s new as of this spring. So guess where I start to lose the wt. first? I love it. I may have it altered instead of getting rid of it. I have made a promise to myself. I am not not keeping any more fat clothes in my closet. This too is a life style change. Let’s all keep on keeping on.
Hi, Elaine,
Great job with the weight loss! I never worry about losing weight too fast because it can’t come off fast enough, but seriously, I know what you mean. I acted on getting bigger clothes out of my closet over this past weekend. Whew! My closet was full and now it is so neat and tidy. I kept the bigger tee shirts since I will grab those for my walks, but everything else went! I don’t know about you, but every once in a while I have doubts as to whether I will succeed. It is rare, but I get scared that I won’t be able to complete the task. Then, I think about the fact that I am 80 pounds less than I was 4 years ago, and I am reassured. Onward!
Hey Janine, It sounds like your up to your old tricks again. Haven’t you done this a couple of time already? I’m so happy for you! It’s wonderful. I’ve thrown out or donated the baggy jeans and have also pulled out a few ”new” shirts that have been neglected due to ”button issues”
I bought 2 pr. of white capris last summer knowing they were too small but the sale price was so good I promised I’d get in them somehow. Almost gave them away but I’m finally in them and so glad I kept them. Took this plan to get us here didn’t it! Keep shopping. Barb Wk8 Dy6
Hi, Barb,
I am so glad to be hearing from you again and so happy for your success! Great news about the smaller size! Doesn’t that feel wonderful!!!
You will laugh when I tell you about a pair of linen capri pants I accidently shrank in the drier a couple of years ago. They went from being lose and billowy to skin tight after shrinking. I pulled them out the other day just to see, and I was shocked to find that they were loose! Can’t argue with that kind of evidence, can we?! Between the supplements, the healthy foods, and the need for smaller clothing, this diet is killing my budget, but I am laughing with delight all the way to the poorhouse!
Congrats Barb!! I know that feeling of fitting into a smaller size. It’s great. I’m so happy for you.
