    Hi, Lisa,
I have had back problems for decades due to five abdominal surgeries and obesity. I, too, thought I was over having those problems after losing weight, but I still suffered a bout of lower back strain and pain. I understand what you are going through, but think of it this way. Imagine how much worse it might have been had you NOT …[Read more]

    • Hi Janine, I have always wanted a rocking chair, your wooden one sounds dreamy.
Have you resolved your sleepless issue? I was wondering if you have ever tried melatonin or inositol? Sometimes I think i am feeling so well from BSS living that I just do not get tired. Of course, the next day I know that is not true: )

    • Hi Janine – Good for you …progress in the right direction has to be celebrated with great enthusiasm. It is so easy to regain six pounds and takes so much effort to lose even one pound. ( 3,500 calories burned = only one pound lost ) . Nicole

    • Janine….just keep plodding away…you will do it…you’ve done so much already. You have the skills. Take care. Rusty

    • Yay, Janine!!! 6 lbs in 2 weeks is amazing, especially when you’re so close to goal. Your body certainly isn’t holding on the pounds! Let’s wish that for everyone :)

    • Oh Janine, that is just wonderful news. I am so happy for you. Keep up the great work. Lisa

It is healthy fat and only 200 calories for a 4 ounce serving, which is ok in my book.

    • Hi Janine, If you can keep it to coffee once or twice a week you will really have won the battle. It is all those other ’little’ only this time, slip ups that are so costly. I have coffee once or twice a month and it is not a problem. But I am vigilant about not letting it sneak up to once or twice a week.

I believe I have reached that point, but not so much out of fear but more because I feel so much better. I see directly how easy it is (for me) to maintain a healthy blood sugar and how quickly the numbers change if I eat too much. Pretty simple argument and very effective for me.

That may be one reason had such a difficult time realizing I was heavy. That would have been unacceptable to my conscious self. You have come a long way and your insights are so good for us to hear.
