The problem has seemed to remedy itself. Quentin, I don’t start my exercises until after I have breakfast but that is just habit. I have timed it that way for the last couple of years because I tend to “crash” if I don’t eat first. Thanks…[Read more]

Diabesity / Diabetes 11 months, 1 week agoI am a type 2 diabetic and I have been on the BSS program for 11 days. I am following it religiously but I am still having some pretty wild swings in my BS. There’s no doubt that my numbers have dropped (fasting BS 150 just 2 days before starting the diet and now around 90) but I don’t understand my my sugar is sometimes higher in the morning…[Read more]

Recipes 11 months, 1 week agoThis is my 11th day and so far I can say I really like the fruit shakes. I wash the berries when I buy them and then just throw the few ingredients from the BSS recipe into the blender in the morning and I have a quick breakfast.

Hi, Mary,
jThe shakes are great! I wash and freeze my berries and pull out what I need that morning. The smoothie is thicker and more refreshing with frozen fruit. It gets hot down here in Texas!-

Oh, I never thought about washing and freezing them. What a great idea! Especially now when they are cheaper at the farmers market. Anything special to put them in in the freezer? Freezer bag? For strawberries, do you cut the top of?

I routinely freeze blackberries, rasberries, and, on occasion, strawberries. Yes, I would cut the tops off before freezing. Dry the berries well after washing so that they don’t freeze together in big lumps. I lay the berries out on disposable pie tins so that when I want to pour the berries into a freezer bag, the tin can be bent into a…[Read more]

Great tip, thank you Janine! I will be freezing berries this weekend. I appreciate your ideas!

I do the same with other fruits, like mangoes and peaches, as well. I have to say when I read the book, smoothies were not appealing, but I love my morning smoothies! Don’t think I will enjoy them in the middle of winter, but for the hot mornings of summer, they are perfect!

I agree – never was a huge fan of smoothies for breakfast either or if I did drink one, I still ate something too! Oh brother! haha

This is a very common occurence for many where blood sugar increases over night as the liver pumps out some glucose. I usally eat a small handful of almonds before bed and it seems to take care of it.
Yes Margo is right – and on top of her game
— some refer to it as a ’lleaky liver’ …. since there is no glucose entering your system overnight from food ingestion – the liver supplies it – happen to me at times though variable — hmmn margo thanx for the almonds Idea ….cheers and gud lluck with the program .

I’m wondering what medication you are on. When does it peak and fall? I did experienced this at first. Started using PGX. After 3 1/2 wks BS’s steady all day. I have also reduced my dose of insulin.
