I jumped into the program 4 1/2 weeks ago when it appeared I’d have to Up my levemir again. I was already taking 73 u at night and 48 in the am. My scores started dropping dramatically so I went to my diabetes nutritionist in the 2nd week (for the first time) with all my supplements and my recipes, and my meter. She lowered my insulin by half, and I stabilized. Now 2 1/2 weeks later I need to lower the insulin again. By the way the nutrionist was a little unnerved by how fast things were changing. I gave her the Blood Sugar solution, and it was the first time she’d seen it. She really wanted me on fruits for more carbs.I politely declined, and I have dropped 17 lbs in the 4 1/2 weeks. But this week I’m feeling a little tired. Just in time for my 2nd appt with the nutrionist.

    • That’s great news about the reduction in insulin! I haven’t started yet as I’m waiting for the book but am really hoping that it will make a dent in my blood glucose levels and mean that I can reduce the Metformin that I’m on (4x 500mg). I hope that the tiredness sorts itself out though and that you feel more energised soon.

If you follow the plan you will make a huge dent in your blood glucose levels. I went from Metformin (3 x 850 mg) to zero pills within 1 week and my levels are very stable all through the day! And I feel amazing!

    • Hi Karen, Your body is doing so much healing and changing. You are probably tired from that. Healing takes a lot of energy!
Just be sure to rest when you can. Many people on the BSS plan had periods of lower energy, but later had an increase in energy levels!
Congratulations on your lower levels and your weight reduction. This sure is the plan for you!
Keep on posting it is a help to us all. Blessings Margaret

      • I’m happy to hear that other people had periods of being tired. I’ve been reading a lot, but hadn’t heard that anyone else was going through this. I should have posted sooner. Thanks for the good thoughts Margaret. What a journey.

    • Wow! That is great. The weight loss I’m sure was an added bonus for you.
