Susan, How has it been going for you? Has the weight loss been steady or just slow? I am just starting week 3, had a great week 1 with the weight loss, nothing week 2, but my clothes are fitting much better. I am getting ready to step up the exercise this week. I am trying to focus on the 6 weeks and then focus on the next 6 weeks, instead of such…[Read more]

    • Kristen, some of the beta testers lost weight incredibly fast and others more slowly. My weight loss has been slow and steady. I have been on the plan since mid-October and have lost 30 lbs. I think how quickly you lose weight has to do with your age, metabolism, medical conditions and how closely you follow the plan. I like your idea of focusing…[Read more]

Thanks Nancy. I really just need to throw my scale away lol…i feel great, my clothes are fitting better and i just let the scale discourage me. I should know better by now that the scale isnt all that matters and is usually the cause of my failure any olther time. Thanks for the reminder :)

i just finished week 2. Week 1 was a success with a 7lb loss. I added the supplements in for week 2 and didnt lose a thing, worked out a little bit but not a lot. Has anyone else expereinced no loss or a little of a gain once they added in the supplements? Maybe my body just needs to adjust to them? Thoughts?

I found that my weight loss slowed after a week, but I still felt great. It seems weight doesn’t drop in a steady fashion. (I started the supplements from day 1.) Good luck!

    • Hi Kristen, My weight lose slowed down after the first ten days.i also started the supplements in preparation week. But it is very slowly coming off again. For me it was portion control. I was eating way too many nuts and almond butter. Now I stay with almonds and count them out. I have not been able to start the exercise, and I am sure that…[Read more]

      • That happened to me too because nuts and nut butters are my weakness too. After I got the PGX in week 3, I was able to slow down a little. I keep my almonds in the freezer and take out only one Trader Joe’s handful of nuts per day now. Just getting off gluten at the beginning gives the weight loss a jump start, but then it comes off slow and…[Read more]

        • Thanks for that. I needed to hear it as my weight has gone up rather than down this last week. I’ll check my portion sizes.

    • Kristen, I am on day 9 and have found the same thing. I lost almost 6 lbs in the first week and nothing so far this second week. :(

In reply to: jrhs posted an update in the group Diet & Nutrition I am starting to forget to eat my snacks. Never used to happen. I eat every 3 hours or so to keep my blood sugar even, so I really don’t like to miss them. […] View

I dont now if its a bad thing or not, but i am not snacking between breakfast and luch usually because i am not hungry. I eat breakfast around 730 and lunch beween 1130 and 12. I do try to have an afternoon snack around 330 or 4 since we dont eat until around 7…but we have been around 830 or 9 this week and its toooo late for me…i am afraid…[Read more]

    • I find it helpful in keeping me from being hungry. Nothing good or bad. Whatever works for you. Sounds as if you need to double up on you afternoon snack to last until dinner. Remember not to eat 3 hours or less before bedtime. Best of luck reaching your goals. ( I have either a frozen berry almond milk smoothie for breakfast, or a couple…[Read more]

is this OK on the advanced plan, or just basic plan?

    • I don’t think there is anything in it that cannot be eaten on the advanced plan. You, of course, should be aware of portion control.

      • On the advanced plan we are not to eat any grains, including gluten free, no starchy vegetables and fruit (except for 1/2 cup berries a day). This is including all of the foods to avoid on the Basic Plan. See page 276 in the book.

I admire your enthusiasm! I am on my last day of week 1 and am feeling great. I had to admit, the first 3 or 4 days were AWFUL, going through withdrawal from the caffeine and sugar, but now that it is over, i feel great. Like you, many times i have started a journey and quit, but i am determined to stick with it this time and get healthy!! Thanks…[Read more]

I am new and starting day 1 of the 6 week advanced plan. I am in need of breakfast ideas as i know you can only have 8 eggs a week. I could eat 2 eggs every day for breakfast and obvioulsy that is too many. Also, anyone else on the advanced plan…are you eating beans? I know a serving size is 1/3 cup so i was thinking of trying 1/3 cup with lunch…[Read more]

    • I sometimes have a protein shake for breakfast when I am in a hurry. You could use sausage instead of eggs for protein. Also, I have stopped limiting my breakfast choices to what are traditionally breakfast foods. I have had stir fry and leftovers for breakfast.

    • Breakfast is still something I am trying to figure out, but I have enjoyed a cooked fish filet for my first meal. I love chickpeas and put them into a salad of canned fish, chopped cilantro, jalapeno, green onion and red bell pepper. I add cumin and chili powder and a tsp olive oil, as well. I mash up part of the beans to combine with the fish,…[Read more]

    • Also by the way egg whites are quite delicious and i doubt they are limited like eggs. You can beat 1 egg into egg whites and make an omelette with it, or just make an all-around egg white omelette. It makes the 8-egg limit stretch out a bit longer. :)

    • Wishing I had Roubea’s endurance on making the eggs stretch with one a day!
I’m using protein shakes (with and without soaked nuts) every morning and saving the eggs for later in the day when I need quick snacks. I too will eat leftovers if I don’t feel like a morning shake.
Somebody posted a almond meal “muffin” recipe that looked delicious…[Read more]
