    Oh Vimala, no need to apologize. I was serious. I guess my core was not as strong as I thought but it is definitely stronger than it used to be and getting stronger (well, at least until this episode with my back LOL). Thank you for your support.     • I forgot to mention that taking anti inflammatories for an extended period have caused weight gain for me. But I lose the extra weight about a week or so after I’m done taking them. So, don’t be too worried if you gain a little weight while on these meds.

    Sounds like you have a great attitude and will do very well on BSS. I have completed a year and still love eating this way.     It is driving me nuts because today was my day to do aerobic dance and Pilates. I will just have to do some light walking until I can get back into my classes, and as Nicole advised, eat fewer carbs since I won’t be working them off. Thanks! Lisa

    I thought my core was strong because of all the Pilates and other exercise classes I do plus the walking! I guess I was wrong about that. Thank you for writing. You guys have made me feel a lot better. I will come back stronger than ever!

    • I’m sorry, I wasn’t implying that your core is weak, Lisa! You mentioned that the weight loss would have taken care of those problems. I was offering another reason for back pain to rear its ugly head even after the excess weight is gone. For all we know, there could be a third reason — it could be totally unrelated to weight and core strength.

    I hurt my back on Saturday morning and it left me flat. I even fainted on Sunday from the pain! I saw the orthopedist yesterday and had X-Rays, which turned up nothing remarkable.     • Hi Lisa, You do have my sympathy. i have been struggling with knee pain, i finally had a cranial-sacral treatment and that helped. He suggested I go to a chirpractor. Well i went today (I used to go regularly, but stopped a couple years ago) and it really helped! I will be going weekly for the next month.

      Have you resolved your sleepless issue? I was wondering if you have ever tried melatonin or inositol? Sometimes I think i am feeling so well from BSS living that I just do not get tired. Of course, the next day I know that is not true: )

When I have traveled I have eaten more than I would at home but I have done my best to only eat the foods that I allow myself and as Vimala says, you are in this for life so if you go off plan on a vacation don’t beat yourself up about it, just get back to basics when you return home.     • Hi Lisa, I just go with the flavors i like and come up with really refreshing things. I love Jamba Juice (of course, I have not had one in over 14 months, with BSS) and that is why I got the Vitamix. It is so hot in San Jose that I do need healthy refreshing drinks that can stand in for a meal. Sometimes it is just too hot to eat lunch.

    Yes, Rich, please space your new supplements with a few days in between starting another one. I began all at once and ended up feeling so sick. Give your body time to adjust to one before you add another and I believe you will have a better result. All the best, Lisa

    No, Rusty, I gave up gum. I used to chew sugar free gum but when I learned about how harmful artificial sweeteners are I decided to forego it. I think my breath must be tons better now that I do not drink coffee any longer. At least I tell myself that! So far no one has moved away from me in conversation. Perhaps try chewing on a mint leaf? LOL! Lisa
