Diabesity / Diabetes 11 months, 2 weeks ago Think back to the last few times you have tried to diet or make a lifestyle change. Maybe your Doc or therapist has told you to work on your motivation to give you a reason to succeed. The thing about ”motivation” is that it usually relies on some external, brainy source such as ” I want to lose weight to fit in my jeans again” or perhaps something like ” I want to do this program until that office event or my daughter’s wedding.” Or, ” My Doc says I need to get my sugars back in control…” Yet so many people begin a new ”diet” shortly after quitting the last one because inspiration was missing. Inspiration is derived my the deeper corners of your soul, a place reserved for you and only you. When we feel inspired, life has moved us and rattled our inner world. From this highly personalized and intimate place we can source our power internally. This makes all the difference in our success because when we are connected to feeling inspired in addition to thinking about our reasons for being motivated, we can sustain our intent to achieve our goal with more focus, consistency and pleasure. In this way, the journey of self-renewal becomes joyful and not just a robotic daily chore. So share with us about what inspires you to succeed on this program and find authentic approaches to becomoing that healthier version of yourself you envision!

You described my past experience with diets – couldn’t wait til they were over to start adding my favorite junk food back into my diet. I feel so good now and I’m rid of pesky problems like insomnia and chronic itching and fatigue that my inspiration is to remain feeling this healthy. I am diabetic and my kidney function was being compromised. Now, going back to my old eating habits isn’t an option. My dread of kidney failure (which my mother had) is a great motivator!
