In reply to: righteousdaddio posted an update in the group Diet & Nutrition Hi. Don’t mean to stir the pot or question success (40 pounds lighter and all blood readings normal), but having watched the DVD ”Forks over Knives” , […] ViewHi RD – the film “Forks over Knives” should be prescribed viewing for the multitudes. It was a great film, wasn’t it?! I strongly believe in it’s message and principles. I think Dr. MacDougall is a genious, as are Drs. T.Colin Campbell and Barnard. I do find the BSS plan has way too much fat in it. In reply to: JANINE posted an update in the group Weight & Obesity My new weekly goal, in addition to losing weight, is to stay AWAY FROM THE SCALE. I was weighing myself at least 3 times each day: upon waking, after my […] ViewGood plan, Janine! I think the weight scale is a ridiculous piece of equipment. It really does not give you any good information. Remember: it’s not WEIGHT you just want to lose, it’s FAT loss we’re after and the scale does not measure that! Your measuring tape and your clothing size are the very best way to see your fat loss results. …[Read more]

Eating a healthy diet full of vegetables, beans/legumes and berries for the six weeks will hopefully see an over-all improvement in health even if weight loss is slow. Hang in there…

I think Jane meant your C-Reactive Protein numbers not blood glucose scores. (although it’s all connected for sure!!) Good for you to get off insulin! Wow! That is a great achievement. Still….a ways to go to get it under […] ViewHi Jane – to get my numbers down I went on a plant-based diet. The more I read about meat consumption (and dairy) the more I’m convinced the stuff will kill you.
That isn’t an answer everyone wants to hear though if the idea of giving up meat is a difficult one. For me it was very easy. (I think I was born a vegetarian and only ate meat…[Read more] -

Ditto on everything Mariberry says above. We need a lot of clarification for the Advanced Plan – beans included.
