Diet & Nutrition 1 year, 1 month ago Hello all! I’m on my third day of week 1 and have learned to cook again like I use to! I already feel less bloated now that I no longer consume bread, milk and Lean Cuisines; I noticed my were a little easier to button up today and that felt good! I went grocery shopping today for more supplies; but especially to get the ingredients for Strawberry Tofu Smoothie and had it as a snack. It wasn’t sweet I thought it would be, but it was delicious. Take care all and keep in touch.

Hi Michele, Glad it’s going well for you! I’ve never been a smoothie person, mine always seem too chunky for my liking, but i’ve recently been reading up on blenders, and it seems that some blenders are better than others for smoothie making. anyone have any thoughts on blenders? I haven’t tried the strawberry tofu smoothie–i think i’ll try it–thanks for the recommendation!
Michelle, I have a black and decker blender that has a smoothie button, it seemed to do a good job, but probably would have been smoother if I had not halved the recipe. Tomorrow I will make the two serving recipe and freeze the other half. Oh, the blender wasn’t expensive. And I bought frozen peaches and blueberries to try as smoothies too. I think I could get hooked on ’em!
hmm, my blender does have a smoothie button too. maybe having a recipe will help–i usually just throw things in–and i think maybe i put in too much fruit…i’m definitely gonna try the recipe!
We have a hand blender that we use for protein shakes that works well. It is more convenient and much easier to clean that a conventional blender. I don’t know how it would work with, though.
I never heard of a hand blender–i had to do a search to see what it was. looks like a good idea–i think i’m going to get one–thanks for the idea!
a hand blender is also good for pureeing vegetables – can turn cauliflower and white beans into mashed potatoes
that sounds good–thanks for the suggestion! i went out and got the hand blender today–cordless!
Hi Michelle:
I find the hand held blender sticks work very well for smoothies. Just be sure you keep the end well submerged in the fluid or you will be wearing your smoothie. Clean up is easy also.
