There is a 6 to 8 month waiting period for the functional doc’s in my area and I have recently signed up for one.

I am convinced that this is some sort of hormone inbalance -so we are not on the same page. I know my diet and exersise practices and calories in and out is not causing me to gain weight.

Like I said it is such a strange dynamic since everything but my weight is going in the right direction.

Endo insists that calories in and calories out are the only determination in weight control. At the same time not really listening to the quality of my diet. I am convinced that this is some sort of hormone inbalance -so we are not on the same page. I know my diet and exersise practices and calories in and out is not causing me to gain weight.

Hi Mike, Sometimes on the BSS plan we hit plateaus where are weight remains the same for a month or two. This can be for several reasons, but one that might be tour situation is that our bodies are healing on this plan (especially if you are very faithful to the plan) and will heal what it thinks is the most important. Hi Mike, Remember that muscle weighs more than fat of the same volume. So you could be building muscle and adding weight that way!

Welcome Mike- it is harder to lose weight when you are diabetic and plateaus are a common occurance. Some lasting months. Other healing is generally going on even though you are not losing weight. . Diet…exercise…sounds like my doctor! Most of his ideas are worse than the cure. Miss Barbara posted something about bioidentical hormones for her husband but everything that I read always mentions menopause, nothing about low testosterone levels. Could I get clairification on this?

Hey Russ,
When women do bioidentical hormone replacement, they get estrogen (my script has two types of estrogen in it), progesterone, and sometimes a little bit of testosterone. The testosterone gives us more physical energy, IMO, and increases our sex drive. At least that’s how it’s been in my experience.
