    Because I am now in month 11 I do use regular butter at times on my veggies. I use coconut butter for all my stir frying..get a good one from a health foods store . I actually never thought of using coconut butter but i have used olive oil on my steamed vegetables. You wil want to be diary and gluten free for the first six weeks at least. Nicole

    Hi Kathy – we have to be in control of our own destiny. I followed my doctors and diabetic nurses instructions for way too long – gained way too much weight and was sick every day..then I started doing my research . Doctors including mine believe that people don’t change..they get on health kids and loose a little weight but eventually fall back…[Read more]

    Hi Shelly – I usually use what is recommended on the protein powder I am using. my current protein powder recommends 1 scoop. that is 130 calories and 7.5 carbs ..I add 1 tsp ground flax seed and 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk that brings carbs up to 10 and calories up to 199.     If you take your supplements at breakfast and before bed…and the PGX at lunch and dinner you will not encounter this problem. I have an ultra shake for breakfast and don’t take a fiber supplement with that. Nicole

    It is safe from what I have read …just make sure she drinks plenty of water. Can cause constipation though..why do you feel she needs it..why don’t you just give her more foods with fiber..vegetables, nuts, etc. Nicole

    I exhausted my supply of clothing that was hiding in the closet quite a while ago…I am now shopping at Salvation Army and places like that for shorts, slacks and tops until I get to 120 lbs. As I can’t bear to spend retail for clothing that I will probably have to give away in a few months because they are too big. Nicole

    Google foods high in calcium…of course milk and cheese are the first things that come to mind. I suspect that this can be reversed over time with the proper diet. You will find as you follow this way of eating that you just keep getting healthier and healthier. Don’t get discouraged. Nicole

      I am already feeling so much better on this food plan. The pain I have been in all week was what made me so discouraged. I’m feeling better today. Resting my shoulder and taking NSADs are really working. Wish your body didn’t wear out.

    I would add one supplement at a time with a few days in between if any of these are new supplements for you. I make sure that I take my multivitamin with food.

    Sorry to hear you are getting put on Glucophage but this doesn’t necessarily need to be foreever. If you cut your carbs back and normalize your blood sugar ( get your fasting blood sugar down to in the 80′s – your doctor will take you off diabetes medications.
