In reply to: gonnadoit posted an update in the group Weight & Obesity I am looking for an online calorie counter/journal. A place where you put in what you eat and it calculates the calories and nutritional information of each […] ViewAnther one you could try is the ”My Plate” function on livestrong, com. I’ve been using it for years and it works really well. I know a lot of people who use the Fitness Pal, as mentioned above, too.

Day 4 of week 2 – doing well! I was out of town for a couple of days at my Dad’s 50th b-day party with tons of family and friends…in the South…so the food choices weren’t exactly ideal since it was traditional southern cooking for a party. But when I got there, I took a trip to the store to get my own veggies and stayed on track, except for…[Read more]

It’s day 4 of my new week 1. Doing well so far. I went camping again over the weekend and brought lots of veggies in the cooler and hard-boiled eggs for breakfast instead of bagels and cream cheese like my friends. When we were hiking, I actually ate less food and less often as my friends did as they quickly burned off the “empty” foods they…[Read more]

It is so inspirational and motivating to just keep at it! Congratulations on your new discovery! I can’t wait to make similar ones at the end of my six weeks. I am not a coffee drinker, so I wonder what I will discover about myself it a similar situation. How great!

For me, it has to be high quality dark (at least 70%) chocolate, anything else is somewhat … sickening! Even the very dark (77%) tastes great now!

I am wondering how much I will be able to taste the sweetness in the darker chocolates. I tried one that was about 90 % and it was not sweet tasting at all. The highest I could go and still enjoy the flavor was in the 80′s. I wonder about now?! I hope chocolate doesn’t disappoint the way coffee did. Life without chocolate. Hmm. Could be…[Read more]

I am just getting started with this particular plan but have been off sugar, dairy and gluten for several months at a time for the last several years. Hi, Nicole,
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time. Your first week on any “diet” is going to be fantastic , but the following weeks will show a more tempered weight loss. Don’t fret over that. Hi Nicole, It is your choice to start over, but I would just get back on track ASAP. Pick a go to treat that is on the plan; one that you would not ordinarily allow yourself. Nicole, I would add that beating yourself up will not help. Many of us have this pattern of beating ourselves up and telling ourselves that we’ll just never do it. Stop that story. Hi Nicole. I’m sorry things have gone awry for you but it doesn’t have to stay that way. I think our “lives” are always going to throw obstacles at us. I find that I have to drink it VERY quickly. If I let it sit for even a moment it starts to expand and get really gooey. So when I mix it up I drink it ASAP. Once I put it in a shake I couldn’t drink immediately and it became strange. it had expanded so much!

TriciaNY replied 12 months ago
I’m with Lisa on this. Drink it almost as soon as you put it in. I actually mix with less than 8 oz (about 4oz) and I don’t mix for long. I gulp it and try to avoid having it touch my tongue as much as possible. Then I follow up with a full glass of water. So I’m getting the water intake I need.
