Tell your brother that you heard from a 60 year old, former type 2 diabetic (for 30 years), who found this way out of it all. The best to you and your brother. Oh, BTW, my wife who didn’t need to lose much weight but joined me to “be supportive” lost 15 pounds, but even more, all of her arthritis pain has vanished for the first time…[Read more]

So, I’ve come to accept these times, but try to avoid the boredom that can follow. Great idea, a better group name might be staying on track or returning to the program. The only issue we have is with the word, giving the reality more energy than it needs. In fact you are correct, we have to work this plan in a way that is doable. If you are at a wedding you can choose to have nothing or you can have an ounce of champagne and a…[Read more]

Recipes 9 months agoSay, in the overall view of the plan, can you tell me about your experience with beans and lentils. Good for blood sugar or not? Does it stop weigh loss, at least for a while? And those who went back on whole grains and dairy..did it go well, or did you have problems?

Nicole replied 9 months ago
Righteousdaddio- I was on another diabetic diet plan from Jan 1 until I started BSS on July 3rd. It limited beans and whole grins for 30 days and then reintroduced beans. This eating plan wanted us to eat beans at every Mel. My weight loss came to a complete halt and I stayed at the same weight for months. I agree than beans are health and good…[Read more]

Hi there, I had real probles with beans effecting my blood sugar in a negative way. I am in month 5 and have reintroduced lentils (red and french) in a small way. Weight & Obesity 9 months agoHello, neighbors.
Well, I’m at the 50 pounds off mark, and that is wonderful. i still have 10 -15 to go, and I must admit, these last pounds are proving to be a challenge. I’ve been on this plateau for about 4 weeks. There are lots of plans out there. All of them work for someone. The trick for everyone is to find a plan that you can use that works for you.
The BSS plan works for me on many levels. But if something else works for others, I will encourage them to stay the course. If their results are less than they want I explain what I am doing.

Don’t take telomerase. It is a major culprit in most cancers. Aging likely has several major components, not just the “cell division” limit (aka “Telemere aging hypothesis”). People also run out of stem cells (this is why the young heal so much faster), and the mitochondria start breaking down, and we lose insulin sensitivity, and a few other…[Read more]
