Thank You Margaret it was very helpful.

    • Hi Lana, I am glad the info made sense to you. Please keep up the caring for others attitude. We cannot have any control over others reactions. But we can keep on caring and acting responsible. If we are truly unconditional (and this is most difficult with family) then we must let go of results and recognize we are doing our best in any situation.…[Read more]

In reply to: Karen Eby posted an update in the group Weight & Obesity I have been pretty upset with myself as I have gained back 50 lbs I had lost and my cholesterol has gone from 180 to 263. I have got it down to 243 but have […] View

    Karen:

what did you do to lose 50 lbs in the first place?

    • Unfortunately I had a severe case of explosive diarrhea for 2 months before it was brought under control. I kept the weight loss for 1 1/2 yrs and then went on a binge eating of ice cream for 2 months and gained it back.

At this point I still believe it is Catch 22. The reasoning goes like this: those of us that are responsible and really care about doing good for others at work/school/family but don’t feel true control over these aspects of our lives come to find comfort in consuming high bad-carb foods. Now we are told – it is wrong, it ruins your health. …[Read more]

    • Hi Lana, Stress is created by our reactions to what is going on around us and with us. Our reactions are, in fact, a matter of choice. You cannot control most things. So it is helpful to realize that since they are out of your control your anger and fear (stress) can be modulated downward.
The true reasons for our stress are our reactions to…[Read more]

      • Love your post Margret. I was thinking some of the things you said. I didn’t have the words like you do. Thanks

    • Just to echo what Margaret said I want to share my experience after 5 weeks on the program. My full time job can be pressure loaded often, and then I come home to my responsibilities of caring for our home and family. Before BSS I often felt exhausted and even angry at home for all that I had to do. Since doing BSS I can tell you that I am a…[Read more]

    • I also have a hard time managing stress, mostly due to a very traumatic childhood. However, I have learned that food and exercise are soooooooo key in helping my emotions/stress/depression. I stopped eating any type of sugar once for 3 years. My mind was affected as much as my body. I stopped having panic attacks, stress was so much more…[Read more]

I believe some supplements are really necessary and was doing a lot of reading to understand which ones. I know because diet and exercise only worked for me – a number of times already – South Beach Diet, Dukan Diet, other variations of low-bad-carb diets – only until some social events or travel provided the choice of bad carbs for me [or…[Read more]

I am wondering if anyone used Green Coffee Bean extract and how it worked for them?

    • I’ve never heard of it…what does it do? My doc suggested Mulberry Leaf Extract instead of PGX but I’m not keen on it after reading it can cause an allergic reaction. Any thoughts on this supplement?

  • Lana posted a new activity comment 1 year ago

In reply to: Claudia posted an update in the group Supplements Curious about PGX. Does this interfere with the absorbtion of any nutrient? If I normaly take a certain supplement with a meal, should I reschedule? Off to google, […] View

I just took my first PGX Daily packet last night – mixed into apple sauce, followed by a big glass of water. I wanted to see if it can replace my dinner – i.e., I won’t feel like I want to eat anything afterwards. And it worked – sure, it’s the first night only, but I felt great in the morning. I did find on internet the advice to mix a…[Read more]
