I have been on a kind of plateau for a few weeks. I started the advanced plan 3/25/12 and within 2 to 3 weeks I was off all of my insulin (still am) and lost 15 lbs. However I have not lost anything more in the last couple of weeks. I was sent away to a conference for work for a week and did fairly well staying on the diet with a few exceptions. However I started drinking coffee again and after 3 weeks of trying it black I am using half and half again. However I usually seem content with 1 cup of coffee a day. Being off of insulin is huge for me, and I do still feel much better and actually gave away some clothes that are now too big this weekend. However I am a little concerned about how to deal with food and drink over time so that I continue my good progress but don’t feel socially isolated and a little deprived. For the most part I have to say I do not have much of an appetite which is somewhat astonishing. I know I need to exercise a lot more. Because of seeing the very powerful documentary (from netflix) ”forks over knives,” to further take care of my health, I am wanting to substantially decrease my animal protein intake. I ordered a book from half.com today on menu ideas for vegans with diabetes. Dr. Hyman or anyone else reading this group’s comments – do you have suggestions and recipes for people on the advanced plan who want to go vegan? What’s the best way to assure getting enough B12 on a vegan diet?

    • Don’t know if you received it but II sent you some info in a private message!

    • I’m still in preparation time, but I also have a problem eating all those dead animals. Some fish or chicken once a week I don’t mind, but that’s it. Fruit is my staple, so I try to figure out how to get around this all.
