In reply to: Barbara Day posted an update in the group Diabesity / Diabetes I’ve been reading the book, and I am starting week 1 this week. I have Type 2 Diabetes and would love to get off the meds some day. ViewHi Barbara. I am reading the book and starting the pgm too. Welcome to the group. I just joined this group a few days ago. It’s reassuring to know that I am not the only one with difficulties in dieting, etc. I really feel I have found the answer, and I have tried everything.

In reply to: Tizzielish posted an update in the group Diabesity / Diabetes I just ordered the book, so I haven’t read it yet. About six months ago, my doc began a strong push for me to have bariatric surgery to manage my […] ViewHi. I read your post with fascination. Although my diabetes is manageagle with diet and exercise, I too have had to take things into my own hands in regards to my health. In my case it was treatment for breast cancer, so I understand what you are up against. I just joined this group myself and have already found the response extremely…[Read more]

I even loss 35 lbs 2 summers ago following a no carb program. Only problem was that as soon as I had a carb – in my case it was some drinks and cake at my daughter’s wedding – my resolution fell apart. I started craving carbs again and couldn’t…[Read more]

HI, Stacy,
I know exactly what you mean about the addictive quality of carbs. I have to confess that when I added way too many beans into my soups these past two weeks, and added mangoes (love those!) to my smoothies, I felt slight stirrings of cravings. That could be why I didn’t lose but one pound last week. I have been drinking more water…[Read more]

Diabesity / Diabetes 11 months, 1 week agoHi everyone! I’ve read the posts and find them very helpful and encouraging. I bought the book a few weeks ago and have been slowly implementing the plan. My goal is to regain my health, lose 50#, and once again enjoy many of the activities I once did (hiking, biking and swimming). My biggest obstical is that I have horrible urges and…[Read more]

Hi, Stacy,
The very restrictive advanced eating plan has worked well for me. Also, mute the sound and divert your attention from all those continuous food commercials, and don’t watch cooking shows. Both those tricks helped me in the early weeks. I have been following the plan for a total of 12 weeks, with 3 weeks of prep and 9 weeks on plan.…[Read more]-

Hi Stacy, Janine is so right. start watching only commercial free TV or netflix shows. The TV ads are totally a problem.
A few days after you start the BSS plan you will probably loose a lot of cravings. As your blood sugar evens out you will not be as hungry. Also PGX capsules helped me a lot I only took one at a time and they curbed my…[Read more] -

I found the first few weeks the hardest. Sometimes I felt irritable and deprived. Now it’s been 3 months on the program. While I can’t say that I never crave or miss a food I am not eating–I think you’ll find that the cravings diminish quite a bit. I am surprised how I have adjusted to a virtually no carb lifestyle, no dairy, no gluten. I…[Read more]

I too have had a series of battles with letting go of coffee. In the end it was only the heartburn I realized it was triggering that forced me to let go of it. One thing that helps me is to say–this need not be forever. But for now, I am going to detox and heal my body and later decide what I can add back in. My holistic doctor suggested…[Read more]
