I have the same worry, Janine. As I get older, I find that my energy to go against all odds to achieve my body image goals is much less. I used to do well without support-in fact I thrived on it. It was like “Oh, ya? I can get in darn good shape all on my own when all you guys are eating unhealthfully! It’s not hard!” Lately I’ve tried to…[Read more]

Nicole, I really appreciate your input. It means so much to know that others are in the same boat, and that this can be done. It’s like I can lean on the strength of the group when I feel weak. So far, on my first day of eating this way, I haven’t slipped. yea! I’m really tired though. I suppose in a few days I won’t be…I was eating an…[Read more]

    • Hi Sandy, it is not unusual to be tired as you go through sugar withdrawal and al lthe other withdrawals that you may be experiencing. Make sure that you drink plenty of water or herbal tea. 1/2 your body weight in ounces. You need to flush your system big time right now! . I like water with a couple squirts of lemon juice or a slice of lemon or…[Read more]

Anyway, I am beginning reading the book tomorrow and intend on beginning the program. At this point, I feel totally out of control, and perhaps not able to stick to anything because I have tried so many times and failed. I welcome prayers of anyone who feels lead. I appreciate this group. It is the only support of my peers that I have right…[Read more]

    • Hi Sandy,

I know exactly how you feel. After being really good for three weeks I “fell off the wagon” last weekend and the sugar cravings are horrible now. Before cheating on Sunday I didn’t have any problems with cutting out sugar and now whenever i see something sweet i would love to eat it (and trust me, that happens a lot since i work for…[Read more]

    • Hi Sandy and Emily, what you are experiencing is totally normal. but believe me it is worth sticking it out. I am at day 2 of week 9 now and feeling great. When I started my current quest to lose weight in January I went through what you are going through. As long as I stay away from sugar…any kind…I have absolutely no cravings. Even when I…[Read more]

    Emily,
I have the same type of problem. Our break room has food in it all the time. I am glad you have so many great ideas from others flowing in ! I actually am reaching out today for support too. I haven’t been eating well-not at all according to the plan, but I want to. I think the online community may really help. Have you noticed a…[Read more]

Well, hello everyone. I would call my major stuff more “emotion” than “stress”, but I think they overlap. When i do qigong and yoga, I am helped a lot. I feel ashamed that i haven’t been doing them and I know no one can do them for me. I begin and do well for a few weeks. Then, something happens and I get very emotional and quit. Each…[Read more]

    • Hi Sandy, Your posts help others as well as yourself. So, keep posting and that may help get you through the rough spots. Qigong is so powerful. I am glad you mentioned it, because it will remind others that there are energy lifting practices out there. Blessings Margaret

Hi I’m new to the online community, and excited to join it. I have had emotional eating and exercise (NON-exercise!) behaviors forever. I’ve gotten old enough to really be affected by this, and I know that I have diabesity. I need support, but am not really sure how to get it…I’m starting anyway!
    Blessings!
