I’ve been on antidepressants for 20 years. It sure is hard to get motivated when you’re down. Any support I can get will be very appreciated. I would like to give support too.

I look forward to seeing how you improve. We have a friend who suffers with depression I’d love to see if this would help him too.

I found that eating salmon at least 3 times a week has help me feel less gloomy. I have had a very good Week 1 and am now starting Week 2 tomorrow. I am feeling my feelings much more strongly but less depressed. The fish oil is also important and I remembered to take it most days at the beginning of the meal, like he says. Good Luck!

    • I agree, getting motivated when you are down is difficult because I have been there. But the hope of improved health and a better quality of life begins one day at a time. These community sites are also inspirational and encouraging. Like Dr. Hyman says in his book, if we just cut out sugar and white flour we will go along way to improving our health. Those foods contribute to depression and lack of energy I believe.

    • I just checked the box at the top of this page under Health Conditions and you will find Dr. Hymans suggestions about depression. He treats the whole body, not just the symptoms.
