FIRST SIX WEEKS COMPLETE!!!! I feel great. A few teeny slip ups here and there, but overall I stuck to plan. I feel consistently energetic and light, I lost 3 inches in my waist, I lost 16 lbs, I am stronger and more flexible thanks to exercise, I am more relaxed, my skin feels the best it has in years, and I am content. I learned how to cook new dishes from the BSS book that I love (and so does my husband). This week I travel for work so it’ll be my first test of not being in a fully controlled environment, but I think I’m ready. I plan to continue on this same course until I reach my goal waist and weight goals. Oh, I almost forgot, I had blood work done during week 5 for my annual physical. My A1c was 5.3, and all my lipid panel results were good too. THIS PLAN WORKS!

    • Good for you! Great work.

    • Great! Any tips for how to get through the first couple weeks?

      • Julia, for me I found that following the BSS to a T was the best way. Not sure if you had a chance to read the book, but there are actually a couple of weeks of prep. The first week is just about observing and journaling what you currently eat. The second week you start to let go of some things like white carbs, high glucose corn syrup, trans fats, and caffiene. Once I actually started the six week plan I felt very ready to start. I was enthusiastic about this from the beginning so that helped me a lot. The key is to always have the right foods on hand and plan your meals. This took some effort in the beginning, but came more easily as time went on. Because I had such quick results in both weight loss and how I felt, that kept me motivated (and still does). One step at a time and one day at a time. Best to you and let me know if you have any other questions.

        • Thank you so much! Yes, I have the book. I enjoy hearing from others personal experience. I am looking forward to the road ahead. What struck me is the importance of outlook as well. You had ”enthusiasm” and that helped you stay motivated. I need to think of this in terms of what health I’m adding to my life rather than thinking about all the things that I cannot have.

          Thank you.

          • Julia, I like how you phrased, ”health I’m adding to my life…” The book also encourages you to find your motivation and connect to it, and maybe that’s what helped me feel enthusiastic from the beginning. My motivation was about feeling as vibrant as I could and being a healthy role model to my son. Thank you!
