Hi, After 14 months on the BSS plan I am deciding to redo the full 6 week advanced plan. Janine inspired me!
I have returned to the advanced plan for a week or two, but not the entire 6 weeks. I will be starting on May 24, so that puts me in a prep week.

Hi Nicole, Thanks. I am hoping for another 10-15 pounds. I will not do that in 6 weeks, because I do not have all that inflammation induced weight I started with before. But I want to get there. 15-20 pounds a year is plenty for me with this heart condition. My blood pressure drops dramatically when I loose weight.

As you get closer and closer to goal weight ..the pounds come off slower and slower but they do eventually come off. ( or at least that is the premise that i am living by these days)

Hi Vimala, I am with you on sweeteners in the protein supplements. I cannot use meals supplements because they are just too sweet for me. I have to use one third of an envelope for one two cup serving. The protein powders are the same way. I have to dilute them so much that there is no point to using them.

Hi, I wanted to mention eggplant. I love it! Well i had an eggplant ragu for dinner (over spaghetti squash) and ate a lot. It was fun because I went to a friend’s house and we cooked dinner together using things from our gardens and the farmers market.

My moment was when i read that food can effect gene expression. In other words, our genes can be manipulated by the food we eat. They can work or go to sleep. We can switch them off and on.

I’ve had a lot of Aha moments. I never realized eating sweetened foods, even when sweetened with natural sweeteners such as honey and cane sugar and stevia could cause cravings for more sweet things. The one bite rule has really helped me …if I really can’t resist something guilt does not kick in over one bite and I find one bit is enough to satisfy me as far as most urges go . Margaret, except to add a little salt, I’ve made it just as it is written. I haven’t felt that it needs tweaking. I have other turkey meatloaf recipes too, cajun style, for instance. Can’t recall how well it follows the BSS plan, though. Haven’t made it in a while.
