Lost 115 lbs since 2004. Gained back 15 since July 2011. Eyes being opened to truth more and more as I read The Blood Sugar Solution. Mom and Dad had Type II Diabetes and I have Diabesity. No more. I\'m fixing this once and for all.

Food Journal – May 2nd, 2012

Breakfast – 2 organic brown eggs w/ salt and pepper, cooked in microwave; steel cut oatmeal w/ frozen blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries; 8 oz french roast coffee w/ 2 creamers and 2 equal

Snack – plain greek yogurt; 2 tbsp flax meal; 1 tbsp organic honey; frozen berry mix

Lunch – Boar’s Head turkey breast, 1/2 slice Boar’s Head colby-jack cheese, 2 slices Ezekiel sprouted grain bread, organic 50/50 spring mix/spinach, 1 tsp spicy brown mustard; shredded chicken w/ small bit of ground beef, shredded iceberg, diced tomatoes, salsa; 2 tbsp guacamole

Snack – shredded chicken, shredded iceberg, diced tomatoes, salsa

Dinner – 4 oz organic chicken breast, 3/4 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup brown rice w/ butter added, organic 50/50 mix, balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing w/ italian seasoning added

Water – 128 oz appx

Exercise – 20 minutes weight lifting (incline bench press and leg press)

How did I feel? – coffee helped me wake up; was feeling full by day’s end, needed to go to bathroom as soon as I got home and probably sooner; developed dry lips shortly after dinner; felt some temptation to snack after 10pm, resisted it; felt good that I didn’t lose control and just dive in and eat the mexican food that was brought into work; I could have easily went nuts on chips and guac and had tacos etc. but I didn’t; I could have gotten by just fine without having the mexican snack and 2nd lunch

What a difference a week makes…

I haven’t started my program prep yet, but I decided to go ahead and eliminate a few things from my diet based on what I’d read in The Blood Sugar Solution.

I cut down my coffee consumption to 1 cup a day on Saturday and Sunday, stopped drinking Diet Coke, and stopped taking an anti-inflammatory I was taking for knee pain. By week’s end, I’d lost about 5 pounds and was feeling better than I’d felt in months.

As this week begins, I’ve added additional Vitamin D, additional Fish Oil, and started taking a probiotic and a digestive enzyme. I’m hopeful and I’m already wearing pants I haven’t worn in months!
