“In the end, what we believe to be true—our conventional wisdom—is really nothing more than sixty years of misconceived nutrition research. Before 1961, there were our ancestors, with their recipes. And before them, there were their ancestors, with their hunting bows or traps or livestock—but like lost languages, lost skills, and lost songs, it takes only a few generations to forget.” – Nina Teicholz, The Big Fat Surprise
This second guest on my new podcast , Nina Teicholz, is here to set the story straight about dietary fat, and she is also ready to call out anyone who stands in the way of the truth.
In this episode, Nina Teicholz, takes a deep dive into the world of fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, and heart disease and comes up with a big fat nothing. The data linking dietary fat (other than trans fats) and heart disease is weak at best, and corrupt at worst. She not only looks at the research but the politics, money, and personalities that demonized fat and why there is very little real evidence that fat is a problem, even saturated fat.
On this podcast, we talk about Nina’s story and how she essentially stumbled upon a diet that served her and how she is on a mission to remove the stigma around foods that were considered lethal for so long.
We also talk politics.
You’ll hear about how Nina is working hard to change dietary guidelines which are still filled with outdated advice.
This episode will show you how one person can make a huge difference.
Wishing you health and happiness,
