Why Am I So Tired All the Time? Such Chronic Fatigue!

IT COULD BE YOUR GUT. Most of us do not recognize or know (including most of your doctors) that digestive problems wreak havoc over your entire body leading to allergies, arthritis, autoimmune disease, rashes, acne, chronic fatigue, mood disorders, autism, dementia, cancer and more.

So having a healthy gut means more to you than just not being annoyed by a little bloating or heartburn! It is central to your entire health. It is connected to everything that happens in your body.

Even in perfect world our gut has a hard time keeping things balanced. But in our world there are many things that knock our digestive system off balance.

What are they?

  • Our low fiber, high sugar, processed food, nutrient poor, high calorie diet that makes all the wrong bacteria and yeast grow in the gut leading to a damaged ecosystem.
  • Overuse of medications that damage the gut or block normal digestive function – things like anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, acid blocking drugs, steroids.
  • Chronic low-grade infections or gut imbalances with overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine, or yeast overgrowth or parasites, or even more serious gut infections.
  • Toxins damage the gut such as mercury and mold toxins.
  • Lack of adequate digestive enzyme function – which can come from acid blocking medication use, or zinc deficiency.
  • Stress can alter the gut nervous system causing a leaky gut and change the normal bacteria in the gut.

It is so important to understand that many diseases that seem totally unrelated to the gut, such as eczema or psoriasis or arthritis, are actually caused by gut problems. But by focusing on the gut you can get better.

    my vit. d is up from a 10.0 to 24.0 ive been taking 50,000 units of d3 a week for 3 yrs. i started taking vit b12 shots 2 months ago and feel no change in my fatigue. i dont sleep even with medications/supplement help. i am completely exhausted. ive changed my diet to a basic diabetic diet, have given up sodas and have started exercising. (which is so hard for me to do. i work10 miles from home and sometimes have to pull over to sleep for a bit before i can make it home.) when i tell the drs this they just tell me to exercise more. nothing seems to be working. i went thru the change at 28 right after i had my tubes tied.(thru me into early menapause) no dr believed me until now so now that it has been almost 30 yrs some one said i was right. we did try estrogen testosterone and progesterone with no change in how i felt. i have NO labido at all. i need help to save my marriage. he is very understanding and doesnt complain but it is driving me nuts. i have 3 grand children i would like to enjoy them. any ideas on what i should do. thank you

    Starla, I too have had chronic fatigue. Most Doctors could not tell what to do till I went to a D.O. who pratices ‘natural” ways also. I FINALLY found a way to feel better because he had an answer. First he did a blood test for Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), 95% of Americans have it and most don’tknow it unless they are of that few percent that have CF. See if you can find online a paper done by Dr. Dana Flavin M.D. I think it appeared in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, Volume 29, Number 7, pp95-101, 2006. The copy I havee happened to come from a magazine called FOCUS in OCT 2006, page8. Title of this article is ‘Nutrient Protocol for Epstein BArr Virus. It lists 6 natural (Vit-Min) one might take, my doctor put me on 3 and wow did it help! Here are the 3 things:N-Acetylcysyein(NAC) 500MG daily, Zinc Picolinate 40-60MG daily, Sodium Selenite 500MCG-daily. Here are the other 3:Vit C, Vit E 800iu,Licorice Root(500mg glycyrrhicinic acid t.i.d.).
    I am not a doctor nor am advising these things. See a naturalist to see what might work for you and also work with any other meds you might be taking.
