Overview
Unlike our physical body, which is subject to aging, inflammation, and disease, we have a quantum body that exists on a sub-atomic level and is the infinite, invisible source of everyday reality that affects our thoughts, feelings, sensations, and biological responses. Without our quantum body, there is no physical body.
On today’s episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy, I’m excited to talk to Deepak Chopra about our quantum body and how we can use it to change the trajectory of our health and well-being. Deepak Chopra is a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation and the founder of the Chopra Foundation and Chopra Global. Deepak is a clinical professor of family medicine and public health at the University of California, San Diego, and serves as a senior scientist with the Gallup Organization. He is the author of more than ninety books translated into forty-three languages, including numerous New York Times bestsellers. Time magazine has described Deepak as “one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century.”
We begin our conversation by talking about the difference between our physical body and our quantum body—or, as Deepak explains it, our soul or spirit body. It’s a concept that spiritual and religious traditions have been built on for thousands of years. Throughout our conversation, Deepak discusses how we can bridge the gap between the abstract nature of quantum physics and the tangible, experiential aspects of the human body. Busyness is more pervasive than ever, and Deepak shares how the belief of not having enough time affects our physiology. We explore how our perception of time and space impacts our relationship to our bodies and our health. We’re learning more and more about how the way we live directly influences our gene expression. Deepak explains how practices that stimulate our vagus nerve—the longest nerve in our body—promote physical healing, and he breaks down why disease is actually becoming optional.
Deepak also shares his daily practice to overcome the fear of death, the four intentions he starts his day with, and why we are not our brains. This is a fascinating discussion that scratches the surface of how we can apply this science to create better health at every age. I hope you’ll tune in.
