MEDICAL RESEARCHER & COPYWRITER Dr. Mark Hyman's digital health and content platform is seeking a Medical Researcher and Copywriter with extensive experience researching, citing, and writing compelling medical-based content. ABOUT HYMAN DIGITAL Hyman Digital is the media engine supporting the entire Dr. Mark Hyman health portfolio. Its mission is to leverage multimedia channels and formats to disseminate health and wellness knowledge worldwide. Premised in the paradigm of Functional Medicine, its vision is to enable individual health agency to effectuate both preventive wellness and curative solutions. Founded by 15 times NY Times bestseller, Founder of Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine and Co-Founder of Function Health - Dr. Mark Hyman - Hyman Digital leverages social content, newsletters, podcasts, products, and other educational formats to educate subscribers on the latest in functional medicine, nutrition science, academia, wellness, biohacking and longevity. Its goal is to uplevel its content engine by providing evidence-based yet digestible content that unpacks systems biology, network medicine, prevention behaviors, nutritional recommendations, and chronic illness cures. OUR NEEDS Hyman Digital is seeking a candidate to lead our medical copying writing efforts across marketing and product materials. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with health experts, including Founder Mark Hyman, MD, to create original content that transforms how people understand and take ownership of their health. The Medical Researcher and Copywriter will have experience in analyzing and critiquing clinical studies and academic papers. This person will be responsible for monitoring the latest in medical advances and innovation, interpreting and dissecting the significance of clinical trials, and producing written analyses and content translating academic science into layman’s terms and have training in and experience with the paradigm of Functional Medicine. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities for the Medical Researcher & Copywriter Content Creation:- Develop engaging and accurate medical content for various digital platforms, including social media, email marketing, blog posts, and website copy
- Translate complex medical concepts into easily understandable and relatable content for our target audience
- Ensure all content aligns with our brand voice and messaging guidelines
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the medical and healthcare field
- Utilize your scientific background to ensure the accuracy and credibility of all medical content produced
- Interpret and summarize medical research findings from studies, journals, and publications
- Understand the framework and paradigm of Functional Medicine and its application for chronic disease
- Skillfully cite and reference relevant medical studies, research papers, and authoritative sources to support the claims made in our content
- Maintain a comprehensive database of citations for future use
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team, designers, and subject matter experts to develop content that resonates with our target audience
- Review and provide feedback on content generated by other team members to ensure medical accuracy
- Ensure that all content complies with regulatory and ethical standards within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries
- Stay current on industry guidelines and regulations to maintain compliance in messaging recommendations and advice
- 5+ years’ experience as a Medical Copywriter or academic researcher in a brand or agency setting
- This role should be extremely comfortable citing medical studies, journals, and publications woven into brand-centric messaging across top, mid, and low funnel opportunities
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to explain complex medical concepts in layman's terms
- Strong research skills and the ability to critically evaluate scientific literature
- Proficiency in citing and referencing medical studies and publications
- Experience as a brand storyteller, narrative writer, and with sales copywriting
- Content lover. You understand the power of storytelling, marketing, video, and the written word
- An understanding of Dr. Mark Hyman’s brand and knowledge of his work and books
- Exceptional written communication skills, and fluent in both technical and commercial languages to help in the translation of advanced medical data into layman’s terms
- Well-versed in content creation, Functional Medicine and health and wellness trends
- Inherently curious, staying ahead of the curve on health and wellness trends
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted start-up environment to oversee multiple projects and occasionally wear multiple hats
- Health-minded. You value health and wellness and understand the power of food and lifestyle. Concerned about the broader health trends including preventive and solutions-based health matters -- we need mission-aligned people
- Curious and organized. You want to test our different ideas to see what works and doesn’t work. You also take detailed notes and keep an organized calendar so that you can reflect and make changes.
- A great, evidence-based writer. You know how to tell stories that resonate with people and tell the truth.
- Self-starter – as the lead of the research and content group, we need you to own your work. Assume everything is on a tight deadline and take full ownership of your work
- Generally just be an awesome team contributor and value add. We’re looking for people who can work autonomously and lead the charge on their projects
- The role is fully remote. Successful candidates can work in any location within the US.
- Base salary compensation package subject to relevant experience
- Discretionary bonus scheme subject to pre-defined performance milestones, measured by engagement analytics, to be jointly agreed with the candidate
