The real reason you haven’t met your health goals

Throughout my career (and my own health crises), I’ve seen one major thing that can make or break our ability to achieve a goal: mindset.

We all start at different places when it comes to achieving better health. Some people want to heal from a chronic disease or overcome a life-threatening diagnosis, others just want to have more energy or lose a few pounds.

But no matter where you stand on your health journey, the right mindset is key for getting where you want to go.

For example, a growth mindset, one that embraces the idea of being able to change for the better and understanding that effort pays off, has shown to be more successful than a fixed mindset. A positive mindset also makes us more resilient to setbacks and open to learning opportunities.

So take a moment right now, and identify your top three goals.

Now, tell yourself you can absolutely reach them and realize you have control of your actions.

Next, start thinking about what it will actually take to get there—and do it!

So often, for one reason or another, we just don’t seem to believe we can have everything we want. We tell ourselves our dreams are impossible before even thinking about what steps it would take to reach them.

But with the right shifts, we can make all those dreams come true. I’ve been through this process myself and I have to say it’s incredible when you change your mindset for the better and work through limiting beliefs that are keeping you from what you truly want.

I was lucky enough to have help through this process from some dear friends and incredible teachers, Jon and Missy Butcher.

Jon and Missy are artist-entrepreneurs whose purpose and mission is to create the highest possible quality of life they can for themselves and the people they love while helping others around the world to do the same.

Using their program, Lifebook, helped me make incredible changes to my mindset and create the life I envisioned for myself. I overcame beliefs that had sabotaged my happiness since childhood and realized I can indeed make my dreams into reality. Now my health, relationships, and career are better than ever.

If you missed it, we sat down to talk about their steps to success in last week’s episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy, and I share more of my personal story, too.

I hope you’ll start working on your mindset today to finally reach the goals you’ve always dreamed of; be sure to tune in to the podcast for more actionable steps.
